It’s cold, dark and there’s a pandemic but one bright light is the new series of drag race tomorrow. The last series was so joyful and really put British drag back on the map. I hope this series is just as good

I thought RuPaul was harsh in some respects but I also think he had a point that if you wear something off the rack then at least embellish it or something. As for Asstina’s ASOS jacket, maybe RuPaul realised afterwards once he saw the footage and felt “had” perhaps?... after all she did get eliminated early on.

I just think if I’d been given one of the biggest opportunities available in my chosen field (for any career not just Drag Race) I’d do whatever I could to fulfil the brief. It’s not like Joe Black tried to do a girlband costume which ended up being a bit shit, he just looked like he couldn’t be bothered with it.

I do feel for Joe Black. Totally understand why they'd sell their outfits if they weren't expecting go back. I liked them much better this time round, I don't think they would ever do well in the drag race format, but I quite fancy seeing their show as I found their video diaries quite funny!!

Its a massive issue for the queens, highlighted by lockdown. I really feel for Ellie Diamond, I feel she's very resourceful and willing go get stuck in where needed though. We worked out where she works for the video too!!

Its funny seeing how many of the queens have had work done, Sister Sister, Awhora and Bimini, and Lawrence has put weight on, but probably less than I've put on so I know how easy comfort eating is to do.

Ru got mad!! But I kinda see why, she came all the way over, quarantined for 2 weeks and didn't get what she expected. Even stuff for primark could be customised for not a lot of money!

If you like Michelle Visage she did a few programmes during lockdown of her family, they were on the iplayer and they were very funny and it was quite the insight into her life, not a glamerous as you'd imagine! How's your head Hun, maybe 6 episodes, well worth a watch!

Oh, and did anyone else think sister sister's chip outfit look like it had giant red testicles? It wasn't as good as Awhora's, but I loved Joe's outfit and Ellies too, very creative!

Not a good look for Ru Paul that. Particularly as there were conversations in yesterday's episode from queens saying they struggled during lockdown.

Ru did say that if it's H&M, putt some glitter and rhinestone on it to make it special. He wants them to be creative not break the bank necessarily. Other queens did it so Joe had no excuse imo. There was a stark difference between Joe's performance and runway look. They definitely could've made more effort for the performance look if they wanted.

Also, the same queens who claimed to have been struggling in a pandemic came back with cosmetic procedures and new faces etc which was ironic... so it seems some of them were quite well off in their 7 months off so I wouldn't blame Ru for asking them to step it up 🤷‍♀️

Haven't watched it yet but I will. I wonder if it will change my mind about anyone. I'm fickle and favourites change week to week. I think Tayce has real star quality, Laurence whilst funny is overbearing and Sister Sister is very meh, new teeth and all. I do want them all to do well though in life. Ellie Diamond is really sweet and deserves more than serving at the drive-through.

Am sad that Veronica Green wasn't back - her transformation is the most astounding, but agree that it was a tactical choice for them to choose Joe Black to return.

Sister Sister's outfit wasn't shaped in the same way as Ahora's was - and I can't believe I'm writing this for an outfit made to represent a bag of chips - but it was very dowdy, the skirt length was too long.

I was willing Joe to do well as Graham Norton really rates him. I thought Ru's anger may have been because someone in production had stuck their neck on the line begging them to get Joe back....then she made little effort. But there you go.

I am new to drag race....watched some of the original series years ago but nothing since. Please will someone tell me what the Snatch race is. (I could Google it but I'm sure you will explain it better.....). Thank you.

The snatch game is a play on the American show The Match game. Its similar to Blankety blank. The queens then do an impression of a famous person appearing on the quiz show. Its hands down my favourite episode of the series!

If you have Netflix its worth a look back at some of the old snatch game episodes. Season 6 is amazing, but the Vivien as Donald trump, Baga as Maggie thatcher, Ben Delacreme as maggie Smith, Bianca Del Rio as Judge Judy, Little Richard, Bob the drag queen, little eadie and Michael Jackson are all worth a look.

Some queens do men, but its like a woman dressing up as a man but its a risk, so they have to be good. Little Richard, Donald trump and Flava flave were great, but Richard Attenborough was awful!

I'd actually noticed that Awhora had had work done even before the break because they have a completely different nose in the video diaries than they do in the earlier episodes!!! They have a much more defined and pointed tip but previously their tip was quite flat. I honestly can't tell the difference between Sister Sister with the surgery but this probably has more to do with the fact that they never really stood out to me, so I hadn't properly scanned their features.

Veronica has posted a message on Insta, looking happy & well. Recovering nicely and in good spirits.

Bimini had had her skin done definitely and looked good for it, didn't look so gaunt But I barely recognised Asstina, not sure if it was the beard changing their face shape but yeah, totally didn't realise who it was to start with. I also thought Ru was needlessly mean about Ginny. Ginny has voiced why they left, that they felt pushed to be an act that went against their non-binary and genderless style. They felt when they put on the boobs and hips they lost who they were. To them drag was less about gender and more about the performance. But then, RPDG has been pulled up before about its attitude towards the non-binary and trans community.

I've just caught up, never got into it before but I watched it all so far this weekend and the lockdown special!
Joe black lives near me, he's a really well respected regular performer in these parts (check out his boyfriend, they are so beautiful but their cabaret act is terrifying). I was shocked at how badly he did but he's so vaudeville/ noir and RPDR seems to favour more traditional panto queens.

My biggest surprise was Bimini bon Boulash. Really didn't like them at first, thought they needed a bloody good wash but now Iove them!
