Funniest Gavin and Stacey moments

Just finished rewatching the 3 series, one of my all time favourite tv shows. For me the funniest moment is when Dave says to Nessa 'are you talking about our relationship? Or the Calor gas?' And then when Nessa and Smithy are on the dodgems and they stop to see Dave standing holding a tank of gas even thinking about it has me laughing out loud

I rewatched this last week when I was sick. I hadn't ever noticed the cream around Nessas mouth after the hen do before.

So many bits - and I'll tell you for why.....

Bryan is amazing - when he gives her the rape alarm in the first episode, his look of, well I'm not sure what it is but when he pins up the Page 3 pic when the boys come round, his stories of what Trevor was like and how he used to terrorise him. It's pretty dark but so innocent.

I also have a soft spot for Gavins mates - spotting the ones from the History Boys, loving their low level criminal behaviour . DHs family are very very reminiscent of that kind of thing and come from the same neck of the woods with the same type of jobs so it's like watching a documentary I swear.

But my favourite bits are the sweet bits - the letter from Staceys dad in the car and the look Nessa gives Smithy when she has Neil the Baby especially.

When Rudy and Smithy come to blows over who’s allowed to do the robot with Gavin.

I always fast forward that bit. The first time I watched it was on the anniversary of my dad's birthday and I couldn't stop sobbing.
I read something a while back about the supporting characters are based on people they knew in reality and how they got their nicknames (Dirtbox, fingers, Budgie) but for some reason my favourite was Chinese Alan. He was simply a delivery guy called Alan who would take food to them and they would invite him in for a drink and smoke.

When Nessa walks out of the changing room in doninatrix gear at the wedding convention:

I love the way the lady say "fabulous" to her. I don't say it any other way now.

Did you ever watch Stella? I loved the first and second series but it got a bit stale. I had a huge crush on the father of her oldest son.

DH and I quote the takeaway scene every time we get takeaway and it never gets old!
Also, since having a baby I quite often say to her "Oh, DD, it's me, your mother" a la Ness to Neil.
To be honest I don't think there's any bits I don't like, I've watched it getting on for 5 times and could happily start from the beginning each time I've finished it.

I love the bit where Nessa borrows the batteries from the remote and takes them upstairs for a bit of “me time”, then comes downstairs and rinses just her forefinger and middle finger under the tap in the kitchen!

Where Pam is awkwardly describing a person of colour by using her index finger to draw a circle around her face and leaning forward mouthing / miming the word “black”. Just so toe-curling.
