Funniest Gavin and Stacey moments

Just finished rewatching the 3 series, one of my all time favourite tv shows. For me the funniest moment is when Dave says to Nessa 'are you talking about our relationship? Or the Calor gas?' And then when Nessa and Smithy are on the dodgems and they stop to see Dave standing holding a tank of gas Grin even thinking about it has me laughing out loud Grin

Doreen terrorising gavin trying to get her hands on him. His face 😂

LaBelleSauvage123 · 11/01/2021 20:06

‘Lights will gui-i-i-i-ide you home and igni-i-i-ite your bones’ : Pete rehearsing his wedding vows.
Gavin sitting on Nessa Santa’s knee
I also loved Smithy’s introduction of Sonia in last year’s Christmas special.

wizzbangfizz · 11/01/2021 20:17

I love Doris and the salad Grin

ValancyRedfern · 11/01/2021 20:53

The whole episode in the restaurant after G and S come back from honeymoon. The whole structure of it as they all go to the toilet one by one is sublime.

DisgruntledPelican · 11/01/2021 20:56

@Chosennonesneakymincepie

Ah yes TwoSpaniels of course! Grin

disgruntledpelican how do you think it has dated? I re watched it with my teen DD and the old mobiles look dated but other than that I can't think of much else.... but it feels like yesterday to me anyway, especially the music.
I honestly may watch them all again during lockdown.

I love the old mobiles, with Stacey’s covered in those dangly phone charm things Grin Maybe it hasn’t dated, I’ve just aged... actually, the older I get, the more uncomfortable I get with the idea of Stacey, who must be about 22, moving in with Gavin and his family a few weeks after meeting, giving up her job. I know it’s fictional and I am old and jaded, but I would be very Hmm if a friend or DD had that sort of plan!

I love this one too, especially when they are discussing the three way Pete and Dawn were planning on and Gwen starts talking about safe words and Stacey's face is an absolute picture!

I find the scene at Gwen's birthday party when they are all doing the line dancing whilst Bryn and Nessa sing Islands in the Stream strangely touching, everyone joining in, Smithy at the front.

In the Christmas episode when Gavin announces he will be moving to Wales and Pam kicks off and Dawn says something like "Go on Pam, hit her, I'll back you up"

CassandraCross · 11/01/2021 21:09

Oh and the morning after the corn on the cob incident the texts being sent and received, just perfectly done.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 11/01/2021 21:22

Nessa, Smithy and Neil, the baby, making sandcastles on Barry Island beach.

Smithy in the Christmas special stuck in the car waiting to turn right, singing along full of festive cheer then gets the rage on with the driver in front mid-song

justanotherneighinparadise · 11/01/2021 21:23

The takeaway scene.

CassandraCross · 11/01/2021 21:47

The babies used for Neil the baby were adorable, their facial expressions at critical moments were fabulous.

SophieB100 · 11/01/2021 22:03

"chicken bhuna, lamb bhuna and prawn bhuna, mushroom rice, bag of chips, keema naan and 9 poppadoms"

pinklillie · 11/01/2021 22:14

When Bryn is organising Gwens surprise party and Gwen tries to come to the window. It has me crying!

CassandraCross · 11/01/2021 22:43

When all Gavin's Essex friends come down to Barry for the weekend and Bryn comes out with his clipboard and leads them over the road to his house like a tour guide. The mini burgers and mini hot dogs he has bought for them and him stressing with Stacey and Nessa over the provision of breakfast and which cereals to buy, "but who'll eat the Ricicles?" "Fair point"

ShesMadeATwatOfMePam · 11/01/2021 22:50

I think you can tell i love doris!

I also like gwen - she's really sweet and lovely and every now and again a little bit of acid comes out!

Best bit is when smithy is trying on suits and rudi is really getting to him.

Orangelover · 11/01/2021 23:02

The bit at G&S wedding when Dawn and Pete try roleplay.

"Shall we go and... have it off?"

"No Pete! You're at least meant to buy me a fu**ing drink"

Grin
GellerYeller · 11/01/2021 23:03

"Sue... Big fat Sue"

LaBelleSauvage123 · 11/01/2021 23:06

In contrast most moving moment - Nessa to Gwen : ‘I’d have been lost without you, truth be told’.

fireearthwaterair · 11/01/2021 23:08

The estate agent showing gavin and Stacey round that the grotty bedsit- ‘No shower or no shower you thinked it should have been’

GellerYeller · 11/01/2021 23:11

The vicar!
'Sit down, you've RUINED IT!!!'

Chosennonesneakymincepie · 11/01/2021 23:11

Doris ...'I'm very open minded... and discreet' 😂
The only bits I dont like are the ridiculously bad flat Gavin and Stacey view and I get a bit bored of the fishing trip.
Nessa and Bryns friendship is fab and Nessa and Gwen. When she leaves to marry Daves coaches 😪

HermannlovesPauline · 11/01/2021 23:15

I love Doris - don’t be giving him nothing on the first date, well not nothing, a kiss, a cuddle, a cheeky finger up the bum

JuniLoolaPalooza · 11/01/2021 23:17

I love the bit when they're having a party at Pam and Micks and Smith and Nessa go outside and come back in with mud in really weird places and everyone slowly noticing and trying to figure out how the mud got there.

Nessa and John Prescott.

thenightsky · 11/01/2021 23:24

Pam: Its the drama Mick, I love it.

peakygal · 11/01/2021 23:29

Absolutely love that show! Cannot hear the word deal without having to say "Deal or Noels Deal" 😂😂 or Nessas "oh oh oh" and where to she going" brilliant 😂

NooneElseIsSingingMySong · 11/01/2021 23:40

“Bloody cockneys”

Whenever I select “U.K.” on a drop down menu I think of Smithy and Rudy Everybody say U.K.

“Theres a toilet brush that says ‘Smithy was here’”

This Christmas DH offered to wrap my present in tin foil and we both said Scrunch and done! The fact that Neil the baby wrapped his present in tin foil Grin

We have a relative called Seth and whenever he left DD (toddler days) would wail Seth’s gone and we’d do our Dawn impressions!

Doris is my absolute favourite though. That bloody fishing trip, when will it end eh Bryn?
Pound a week, what does she take me for? I’ll be 140 by the time she’s paid me back!
