Happy New Year and thanks to @Blondeshavemorefun for this thread! My most memorable Eastenders was the year that Ian lied to Mel about Lucy having leukemia. Ian really is a weasel of the highest order.

It's on early tonight once ' the wall ' is finished.

The wall is absolutely awful. The only good thing about it is the money goes to charity. Danny dyer as a game show host is terrible.

@Covidpleasegoaway I think the story line is he was abused when he was in care by Katy but he blocked it out and seems to be having flash backs..

The actor is in Y7 too so is exactly the right age for the story. He looks SO young - it really hammers it home just how wrong it all was.

To be fair they portrayed it sensitively.. But there will always be someone who complains

Normally I wish they would do a happy storyline nice over the festive period, and I much prefer happy-go-lucky, life and soul, besotted-with-Linda Mick. I can't take to him in serious storylines, but I do think regardless of who the character is, this would be a hard episode, especially after this year. It's good that The Samaritans are being used here.

I'm just so glad Mick has finally come out of the denial phase and realised what Katy actually did to him was abuse and that he was a victim. It came quite quickly once he started talking to the Samaritans and wasn't dragged out any further thankfully 👍
