I don't think they applied any of the government restrictions and stuff - I think it would be impossible for them to do this with any degree of reality and I'm happy that they aren't doing it TBH.

Sharon is very good looking ( I know that's controversial as others won't think so but she has lovely eyes and legs ) and it was nice to see her in a top that wasn't black last night.
Her and Ian have been in it since the start. Such a legacy.

I agree. I’m not sure they properly thought through the Ian/Denny stuff when they wrote that. Or maybe they did and they wanted Sharon and Ian, the only original two, pitted against each other with only one victor? It’s sad. Their relationship can never recover even if Ian isn’t killed. (Which I don’t think he should be) so they’ve ruined a 35 year legacy for a very small boost in viewing figures.

Lucas is from a time when I didn't watch EE so I looked on Wiki. I think someone else raised this but do they really release people serving a life sentence for double murder after 9 years??

People get out in soaps for all sorts!
Trouble is many won't remember Lucas or why his such a horrible man etc.

Thanks for the info re filming, I had suspected it was something like that, as there was something "edited" looking about it, but was v aware that the closeups were individual characters only. X

@Marvelle they're social distancing constantly, I don't think I've noticed many scenes where they're not, apart from the ones where they've edited/spliced people together

Also I completely agree that it's a shame Sharon and Ian's relationship is ruined now.
I dont understand the Denny voicemail, and who's phone it is on. She said something about waiting months (?) for Dennys voicemails, but surely his voicemails wouldn't include messages he left on other people's phones? I'm confused.

I think it was a voice message rather than a voicemail.

I remember the Lucas storylines. Don Gilet was terrific at portraying charm and self-delusion alongside some horrible crimes so I'm not surprised Chelsea has been sucked in. Wonder why they've recast her.

I've not watched this year though, do we know for definite that Ian was responsible for Dennis's death, as in was it shown? I agree that it seems a bit cheap, sacrificing a relationship between two characters that's developed over 35 years for the sake of a whodunnit/ revenge storyline.

Ian locked Denny in a room on the yacht and didn’t tell anyone where Denny was. Then when the boat crashed and started sinking Ian couldn’t find the keys to open the door and it took ages to get Denny out. By the time he did it was too late. If Ian hadn’t locked him in he’d have survived.

@yellowhighheels well, we saw Ian lock Denny in the room, then try to smash the door etc to get him out. So, if Ian hadn't locked him in there, he likely wouldn't have drowned.

The new-head Chelsea was great in Waterloo Rd, so hopefully she comes into her own here too.

If Phil hadn't tried to fight Keanu on the boat ,it might not have been in trouble in the first place though , so they are all culpable in their own way.
Ian didn't know he would t be able to release him either!
It was sad and it's sadder that Sharon hates Ian now who took her in when Phil booted her out last year pregnant with Albie! They have always been such good solid friends.

I think Phil is helping purely because of Denny. Perhaps with a side order of guilt about having caused the crash. Plus a modicum of fear about how Sharon might want to kill him too if she finds out!
