Ok. I think he’s Scottish. Over 60. Balding but hair a sandy/ginger/blond sort of colour. Slim, sharp features (I think)
Similar age but not either Bill Paterson or Denis Lawson. I picture him as weary and maybe as an older uniformed police officer. 😩😩😩 Any ideas?

Ok ladies, sorry if I gave you a sleepless night! Unfortunately, I’m no further forward but as it drove me insane for a good few hours before I came on here for help, I think I’ve exhausted all reasonable searches. I can hear his voice but I can’t bloody work out what he’s saying.

I promise I’ve checked all the suggestions including Bill Paterson. His accent is different. He does sound more like Gordon Jackson but a quick google tells me both BP and GJ come from Glasgow so I obviously know Jack shit. In my head he looks similar to Roberts Blossom who played the old guy in Home Alone but clean shaven. And Scottish. I promise to come back and update this thread as soon as I spit him in another Midsomer or Lewis.

Here are my thought from 3am (not that I'm up and checking this thread): all middle aged and older male Scottish actors look the same. There are about 90 of the bastards that look like an older JJ Chalmers off of Strictly.

Could you pinpoint which episode of Morse he was in or another show. I know Midsummers all blend into one

If he was in Morse, given they only made 32 episodes, half the cast were regulars, half of the non-regulars were women. If the OP trawls IMDB, it shouldn't take too long.
