Ok. I think he’s Scottish. Over 60. Balding but hair a sandy/ginger/blond sort of colour. Slim, sharp features (I think)
Similar age but not either Bill Paterson or Denis Lawson. I picture him as weary and maybe as an older uniformed police officer. 😩😩😩 Any ideas?

That said I've had similar discussions with dd who I'm sure has some kind of face blindness! She'll describe someone as tall redheaded Scots actor and it'll turn out to be a short dark haired American she meant!

I can "see" who I think you might mean OP, but I might be going back too far - I'm thinking late 70s and into the 80s. I keep thinking of series like Sutherland's Law or Callan, but more that era than those particular programmes necessarily. I've been through a long Wiki list, but that was lacking a lot of 'photos!
