I found Mel and Sue a bit twee by the end but looking back they're miles better than Noel and Matt.

There was a glimpse of Nadiyah, she was quite quiet at first. There wasn't much of Rahul today either, I expect they'll both be in the next one

Ruby was in the final with Rahul and Kim-Joy.

She's also in a Christmas special this year. I liked her!

It's repeated on 4seven at 8pm tomorrow (Wed) and I'm sure it'll be on All4 too!

It's also repeated on E4 at noon Saturday then on E4+1.

Looks like there's a whole afternoon of Bake Off festive specials on E4 & E4+1 on Sunday

I looked on the all 4 app on the TV. Maybe it hadn't been added yet . I'll look again tomorrow

The Derry Girls Bake-off (was it 1 Jan 2020?) was hilarious.

That's funny Gareth I remember Kim Joy she was amazing.

It was lovely to be reminded of Kim Joy's incredibly beautiful & creative bakes. And the lovely Selasi - swoon. I'd forgotten so many of the wonderful characters - Howard and his custard!

@agingdisgracefully I don't think it was done deliberately but the woman (Deirdre?) got a lot of stick on social media. Though at her age she probably doesn't read it . IIRC she withdrew from the competition a week or two later for health reasons.

I remember I forecast the soldier girl as winning from the start! I can't think of her name she was a brilliant baker.

Thanks Jourdain Yes Sophie was incredible. There were some very good bakers in that episode.

and a bit more feasibly has started a business called Sophie Faldo Couture Cakes.

I found her a bit unlikeable TBH. Bit of an overachiever (And yes I'd say that about a man too, I'm not being sexist or 'doing down women'). Probably why she didn't get snapped up by the likes of the BBC.

She did a Radio Times column last year, I think? Not sure if she does it still.

I know what you mean intermittent IMO Cool and calm (unlike a number of the others in that episode !! ) I thought she was ok. actually, obviously gifted.
