Here's a thread if anyone else has made one let me know and I'll get this cancelled!

OP posts:

Dave.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 27/11/2020 20:52

That's lovely.

petalpower · 27/11/2020 21:01

No Prue or Paul (or Noel).

Toddlerteaplease · 27/11/2020 21:14

Prue and Paul have already been on.

CaptainMyCaptain · 27/11/2020 21:26

Noel is probably too expensive.

kursaalflyer · 27/11/2020 21:42

I found the proposal a bit embarrassing! Then Jo cut to a break straight after.

CaptainMyCaptain · 27/11/2020 21:53

@kursaalflyer

I found the proposal a bit embarrassing! Then Jo cut to a break straight after.
I'm sure the timing was deliberate and not decided by Jo on a whim. It was probably better that way we didn't need to see everyone congratulating them and all that. Then they could go off and do their own thing.
kursaalflyer · 27/11/2020 22:08

Yes that's true!

SequinsandStiIettos · 27/11/2020 23:28

Well, I thought it was lovely and have just burst into tears again Blush
And yes, I normally find it cringe and awkward as it puts the partner on the spot but she's just had his baby - the most gorgeous baby - and she looked radiant so fair play, Dave done good.

AlfredaLinguini · 27/11/2020 23:51

@CaptainMyCaptain

Noel is probably too expensive.
Noel is on paternity leave, and is also being replaced by Tom Allen for the Christmas special Smile
longwayoff · 28/11/2020 07:07

More Tom Allen? Hopefully he's earned enough £££s this year to take a lengthy sabbatical, a relief to most of us.

CaptainMyCaptain · 28/11/2020 08:36

Noel is on paternity leave, and is also being replaced by Tom Allen for the Christmas special smile Fair enough!

I like Noel but can't imagine him doing his normal 'weirdness' on Extra Slice anyway. I also like Tom Allen so look forward to seeing him on the Christmas Special.

Dogmatix34 · 28/11/2020 09:27

I thought the proposal was lovely if highly awkward. Often public proposals are men trying to make the woman’s occasion all about them, proposing at her graduation etc. But this was the complete opposite as Dave made his moment all about her. I would have hated it though!

ppeatfruit · 28/11/2020 09:27

Ref . proposal; Ohhhh sweet! She looked really happy, Dave on bended knee, with ring and everything!!

TA ruined ES for me last night and I had almost begun to like him. He was cold and unpleasant, he made Rowan blush. The panel were all nice too.

ppeatfruit · 28/11/2020 09:28

Oh if Emma Bunton lives on cakes I'm a monkey's Grin

Fizbosshoes · 28/11/2020 09:45

Aww just seen the proposal, he seemed so nervous. It was really sweet. Smile
(I watched just the proposal clip so missed TA )

theliverpoolone · 28/11/2020 09:49

I felt a bit awkward about the proposal when it was happening - like it was stealing the thunder from Peter, who as the winner was meant to be the 'star of the show'. And interestingly all the comments above are about the proposal, not Peter .....Hmm

Dogmatix34 · 28/11/2020 09:51

Hadn’t thought about that re Peter! It wasn’t mentioned during his segment though was it?
I love TA! He certainly divides opinions.

ppeatfruit · 28/11/2020 09:55

Hmmm true about Peter but he got a lot of airtime. Dave must have told C4 what he was going to do, they could have vetoed it I suppose.

ppeatfruit · 28/11/2020 09:57

Hey they missed a trick there, a Bake Off Wedding Cake!!!!!

Fizbosshoes · 28/11/2020 10:06

In one of the first series I think the showstopper was a wedding cake. I think someone called Frances won

ppeatfruit · 28/11/2020 10:10

They can do another one can't they? The hunt for an unknown recipe is daft IMO. The Horn of Plenty was bonkers, I'd never heard or seen one, it seemed a ridiculous thing.

pinfloy · 28/11/2020 10:32

Am very anti public proposals. A friend only said yes because the proposal was a big occasion with lots of friends and family looking on.

ppeatfruit · 28/11/2020 10:36

Well a baby is a bit of a clue that they're in it for the long term! pinfloy. Or should be (but I'm old fashioned that way). Grin

ChessieFL · 28/11/2020 11:51

Frances won series 4 and yes the showstopper in the final was a wedding cake.
