Just watched the final, the ending was so emotional.

Seems like many have stayed in touch with each other, I guess being together in isolation for 6 weeks really brought them very close.

The BBC series were also on Netflix - not sure if they're still there as I watched them all so they've dropped off my watch list

Just caught up with the final. Sobbing at the catch up 🍰

Agree with all the above, but by God he hung on by the skin of his teeth for a couple of weeks when it looked like he shouldn't have.

I know I think they kept him on for entertainment value and/or the hope that one day his ability would actually match up to his vision.

I feel Laura's getting a bad press. I didn't think she deserved to win, or perhaps even be in the final,but the one thing we can't judge when watching on tv is the taste. Only the judges can do that and Laura was consistently praised for her baking and flavour.

I struggled with her messy kitchen, and some of her creations looked awful, but we've all had cakes that look great and taste of nothing. Laura's bakes clearly tasted good.

Fizboss I reckon that Hermine had a huge amount of pressure to do well in patisserie week, it backfired IMO. Both Prue and Noel mentioned it to her. It got to her I think. She'd have probably been in the final if she'd kept her cool.

Thanks Schady But I try not to do any links (I'm paranoid about them) Could you give me a quick precis?

It is pictures of Noel Fielding along side cakes that are very similar ro what he is wearing. eg: One one he is wearing a white shirt with black silhouettes of birds in flight, juxtaposed with a tiered cake who is white with black silhouettes of birds in flight etc.

The woman who posts them (it's a Twitter thread) is pretty good at finding these things.

But I'm not in the least offended - it pays to be wary online.

I thought the same they'd kind of marketed as her week. I even wondered if they expected a higher standard from her than from everyone else , because she was French (and by previous standard) although she took an enormous risk with the showstopper (that didnt pay off)
