Those court room scenes were ridiculous. No judge would permit children to be present for those photos being shown. Alternatively what parents are so useless as to let children attend!

NK:s face more frozen this episode :( she found it hard to emote that final scene.

Would just the jury see those explicit photos in a uk trial?

I wonder if the "Katie" story is a massive red herring though to make us suspect HG even more.
His mother was very convincing about his despicable nature though wasn't she.

The blonde "friend" lawyer - I wonder if she'll leak the Katie story to her mate the prosecutor.

Plus I just don't think it can be Henry - and I think he knew the weapon was there - but then who is he protecting?

Will NK have to choose between husband and son?

Still think it's Donald Sutherland and this week was laying a false trail to put us off his scent.

I also think it was Donald Sutherland as he was hardly in it this week, though obviously that is not good reason to be a murderer. Maybe Henry knows it's him, though Henry was looking a bit suspicious in the restaurant.

HG's mother seemed very odd, correcting her daughter in law's grammar when she hadn't seen her for years. I wonder if HG had a strange and loveless childhood.

Probably a red herring but I keep thinking back to the very beginning where Elena's son asks where she is and his dad says without any doubt "she's in her studio". How would he know that? Have I got the timeline wrong or did she leave the benefit and go straight to her studio (wasn't she still wearing the same dress when she died)? Or would he maybe just have been trying to reassure the boy that she was fine?

I wonder if it's Henry and elenas son....

I was literally swinging between them all last night.

HG did not cry when telling NK about sister, kept really rubbing his eyes but no tears, sort of backs up his mum's story of no empathy, possible sociopath?

NK in the court room, saw those awful photos, still went and slept with him. Are they in it together? She had a odd look on her face in courtroom but that maybe the Botox?

Henry, oh my god why would you allow any child in a courtroom? Looked very shifty when prosecutor was using hammer, would not look up, guilty?

NK blonde friend, she turns up late, stands by the front row, so all can see and waves at the prosecutor? Either a bit socially unaware (she should be supporting her friend) or attention grabbing? Is she feeding info to prosecutor?

Police, CCTV footage, we must remember that there is none in direct area, but HG, NK and Elena's husband have all been viewed nearby.

Hammer, HG went into Henry's bedroom early hours to say goodbye as he was going on trip, could he have given a lovely parting gift, of a murder weapon? If Henry is not on CCTV that is the only possible explanation for it to be in his possession.

Elena the flashbacks, she was on the floor , begging , someone must have been kneeling to the side or straddled her. Hit 11 times, clothes would, hands, face and hair would be covered in DNA and blood. I feel that it must have been an adult for them to get her on the floor in the first place. Hammer clean.

Agreed. Apart from the fact that Hugh was shagging someone else, he is the lead suspect in her murder. As if you would be back shagging him.

She seems very lacking in emotion but agree I don’t know whether that is because she can’t emote.

HG:s mother is either one of those stereotypical uptight English the Americans put on screen sometimes (obsessed with etiquette) or else a crackpot herself. I mean with a mother like that, is a child likely to share its feelings? Could mean nothing. Could also be a sign that the lack of empathy/odd behaviour his heredical, and that Henry is also not normal, ie Henry did it. I don't think it's likely that a boy that young can swing a hammer etc also he'd be, as PP has said, covered in blood and it's unlikely he could hide that. We have not been introduced to Henry as spectacularly intelligent so no reason to believe he's a master schemer. Could well be that he is covering for HG. He's already shown that he unconsciously covered for him re: the meeting outside the school. Maybe now he was told to cover? Maybe he is doing it himself, to protect? He searched HG:s room, remember, maybe he was looking for the hammer then? Agree that odd-ish that hammer is clean.

Everything about that trial annoyed me. So sloppy.

Just sitting down to watch Episode 5 now. Literally can't wait, so excited. This better be good!

I can't believe these 2. He says she's the Most private person ever.

but first they're arguing by the river and she pushes him and they are seen by public and snapped with a camera.

and now they're out to dinner. Why? Just shy? and the son is making a scene and then HG storms off and it becomes apparent about Katie the kitten.

Why are they out in public. Surely his solicitor advised them to stay home, never be seen out, and Definitely not making a scene!

Yes the restaurant scenes annoyed me just as much as the unrealistic court scenes!

Could the opening sequence be of Katie, not NK?

I thought the blonde "friend" lawyer passed something (piece of paper?) to DS when she entered late into the courtroom on the second day.

But I suppose all these little bits and glimpses of something-or-other are just a plot twist.
The whole cliffhanger about NK being on cctv walking in the crime scene / studio area was soon squashed early in the next episode when she was seen walking alone just afterwards.

So it could be the same with the weapon - perhaps Henry is a secret sculptor or carpenter or metalworker as well as a talented violinist

All the characters are getting a bit preposterous and non-credible, but I still can't wait for next week's finale - I do hope it's not a terrible letdown.

I wonder if anyone wpuld dare tell Nicole to ease off with the surgery now? Her mouth is really distracting and she just looks vacant half the time. Do you think she can feel that her face isnt moving?

She looked really good in Big Little Lies I thought. I also thought I’d read she’d stopped the Botox.

I’m not anti-work but a few age appropriate lines look good. Chasing every line is not a good look.
Is it filler she has overdone? I do think she’s beautiful but as the series goes on it’s clear she is struggling to express emotion.

Did she black out and her son followed her? She attacked the woman and her son protected her.

And yeah - blonde lawyer 'friend' of NK. I think she's passing on info to the prosecution. NK needs to be careful who she talks to.
