@KickAssAngel it sounds like my idea of a nightmare!
In the UK in big cities you get very mixed housing areas with social housing next to multi million pound houses which just about stops that happening. Not sure if it occurs anywhere outside the cities though.

It's a big problem. I grew up in Kent, so know how much middle class families will manipulate any system to get their kids into the best catchment area for a school. At least schools in the UK get fairly even funding, but in the US the difference in budgets can be huge and really affect the quality of the education. I find it interesting that David Kelley has highlighted those kinds of schools a couple of times now.
