What was the last thing you watched that made you laugh?

I have been on a bit of a medical documentary binge and realised I have no things which make me laugh.

More recent things I have liked Included what we do in the shadows (film better but series good), this country, motherland (sort of).

I don't mind a tragi-comic bent, like fleabag or nighty night (although that thing Julia Davis did for sky was erk, I was a bit wtf even though I usually like dark/weird).

Any missed gems?

Catastrophe was great

Maybe it’s just because I’m Scottish but there’s a programme on BBC iPlayer called ‘Two doors down’ and it literally makes me laugh out loud. Worth a watch.

Schittz creek on Netflix is very funny too.

BlackLetterDay · 15/10/2020 17:05

I think I might have seen a couple of those, I liked the series she did with aisyleen bea so will look it up.

The Downton Abbey film. It was randomly half price on prime yesterday so bought it for a rewatch. Very funny of a little thin on plot!

BlackLetterDay · 15/10/2020 17:10

Downtown Abbey? Thought that was a stuffy period drama? Then again I thought inside no9 was a political thing for quite awhile Grin

Also girls, somebody hated it and and posted a rant, I ended up watching it and loving it, one of my favourites.

Taskmaster, the David Baddiel series.
Ghosts
What we did on Our Holidays - always gets me both crying and laughing. As does Hunt for the Wilderpeople.
Any Would I Lie to you with Bob Mortimer on. In fact just go on YouTube and look up the best Bob bits. Someone has also just put all of David Mitchell's rants on in one go, that's quite good.

Ghosts

I rather liked The Duchess on Netflix. It's Katherine Ryan the comedian. The premise is ridiculous but she is funny.

Batshittery · 15/10/2020 18:05

Another vote for Schitts Creek on Netflix. It made me laugh out loud (which is very unusual)

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 15/10/2020 18:05

New series of Taskmaster starts tonight! That is always good for a laugh, although some series more successful than others.

Strangely enough the last programme I watched that made me laugh until I cried was Ed Stafford Last Man Out which is a survival series, but in one episode he threw up so hard that his tooth flew out and DP and I couldn’t stop laughing Blush

Echobelly · 15/10/2020 18:06

Bob's Burgers is genuinely funny and very sweet too

wineymummy · 15/10/2020 18:06

Gone Fishing, with Paul Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer. It's less about fishing and more two old friends having a chat and a giggle. Guaranteed to make you feel better.

We also really enjoyed Grayson's Art Club back in lockdown...good for the soul and some very good amateur portraits of Chris Witty to make you laugh.

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 15/10/2020 18:07

We also enjoy That Mitchell and Webb Look, which had an eerily accurate depiction of a post apocalyptic world Grin

Friday Night Dinner

Pickypolly · 15/10/2020 18:08

Schitts creek, bloody brilliant.

Afterlife, oh please please watch afterlife, it’s one of the best things I’ve ever seen, absolutely superb.
Killing Eve of you can get that from somewhere.

YouKnowWhoo · 15/10/2020 18:11

I am bingeing on After Life - as @Pickypolly said too - yes yes yes! I think the premise made me feel sad so I was avoiding it. But it’s GREAT. Not to be skipped!

And Girls, if you like Fleabag. Definitely.

iklboo · 15/10/2020 18:11

Taskmaster
Richard Osman's House Of Games
Bob's Burgers - I agree is very funny, especially the parody episodes
Derry Girls
Friday Night Dinner

derxa · 15/10/2020 18:12

I struggle with this now. Old series of Still Game. The Tiger King Confused

williowrosenburg · 15/10/2020 18:15

Cobra Kai is very funny.

Auridon · 15/10/2020 18:15

Sasha Baron Cohen's new trailer. Can't wait for Borat 2.

jay55 · 15/10/2020 18:19

I plug it a lot but Corner Gas on Amazon prime is funny and lighthearted.
And it has a film to watch when you run out of episodes.

BeyondMyWits · 15/10/2020 18:20

Richard Osman's House of games was the last telly prog to make me laugh out loud. 6pm bbc2... for the next few weeks.
