I have been on a bit of a medical documentary binge and realised I have no things which make me laugh.

More recent things I have liked Included what we do in the shadows (film better but series good), this country, motherland (sort of).

I don't mind a tragi-comic bent, like fleabag or nighty night (although that thing Julia Davis did for sky was erk, I was a bit wtf even though I usually like dark/weird).

Any missed gems?

An old one. Arrested Development which is on Netflix. The mum, Lucille, has some great lines.

Yumsnet · 16/10/2020 22:42

Another vote for Stath Lets Flats.

Kim's Convenience. About a Korean family in Toronto. It's light comedy but really well scripted and acted.

Top Gear (old and new)
Have I got news for you

We watched Emily in Paris with low expectations but ended up binge watching as it was funny and cringey at the same time. Great advert for Paris but definitely not a true portrait .

Homer28 · 17/10/2020 08:06

Misfits. Came on Netflix recently and really makes me laugh out loud!

AppleJane · 17/10/2020 12:45

Brilliant thread, much needed. I've got a solid list as long as my arm now! Imdb ratings agree with you all too Smile

MsTSwift · 17/10/2020 15:14

I know it’s fashionable to scoff but I did laugh at Michael Macintyres new show on Netflix - the shark “came out of nowhere” bit anyway

Springfern · 17/10/2020 15:17

Try Pulling old BBC show, Sharon Horgan's very early work. Dark and hilarious

2020hasbeenbloodyawful · 17/10/2020 15:21

I've recently been on a Jack Whitehall binge.

Fresh Meat and Bad Education are excellent.

Fresh Meat has some iconic one liners and has Simon from the Inbetweeners in it and Kate from Wild Child which was a teenage favourite.

icelolly99 · 17/10/2020 18:09

The new Taskmaster episode was hilarious.
Also Mandy is weird funny
Ghosts is very clever funny

dementedma · 17/10/2020 18:12

Upstart Crow and Ghosts

elQuintoConyo · 17/10/2020 18:51

Another one for The Boys here.

Well, well, well, if it ain't the Invisible Cunt Grin

We're currently binge-watchung Modern family as we've only caught the odd season here and there over the years. Ty Whatsisface who plays Phil Dunphy is a comic genius! Loved him as a Gestapo in a Kay and Peele sketch, too.

Kay and Peele - truly funny.

Standrewsschool · 17/10/2020 18:53

Mrs brown Boys, and Rhod Gilbert’s Work experience.

Lollypop4 · 17/10/2020 19:04

we started watching "Motherland" last night, quite funny

Lollypop4 · 17/10/2020 19:06

also laughed at "Ghosts"

LadyOfTheCanyon · 17/10/2020 19:06

Bad Education and Preet The South African self defence expert.

" Listen up, you raggle taggle bag of cocksuckers!" said to a bunch of 15 year olds makes me laugh every single time.

Puffinhead · 17/10/2020 22:40

Ghosts
Detectorists
The Young Offenders (prefer the first series). It’s brilliant.
Motherland

For something a bit sillier - King Gary or Mister Winner (my teens like this).

Puffinhead · 17/10/2020 22:42

Oh, I also like Fresh Meat - takes me back to my student days.

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 17/10/2020 22:43

I'm watching Good Girls and it's pretty funny
