What was the last thing you watched that made you laugh?

I have been on a bit of a medical documentary binge and realised I have no things which make me laugh.

More recent things I have liked Included what we do in the shadows (film better but series good), this country, motherland (sort of).

I don't mind a tragi-comic bent, like fleabag or nighty night (although that thing Julia Davis did for sky was erk, I was a bit wtf even though I usually like dark/weird).

Any missed gems?

I’m re-watching Count Arthur Strong at the moment and I’d forgotten how hilarious it is. It’s a very ‘marmite’ show though, you’ll either love it or hate it.

@savagebaggagemaster oh DD3 and I love Brooklyn 99! So daft.

Fuckingfuckssake · 15/10/2020 23:15

Ghosts
Gone Fishing
The Detectorists.

TheSpottedZebra · 15/10/2020 23:18

Yy to tonight's Taskmaster.

pumpkinpie01 · 15/10/2020 23:19

The Other One think , The Duchess both funny easy watching

SequinsandStiIettos · 16/10/2020 02:55

Another one for Taskmaster - just seen on channel 4 - joyous, particularly the part that Lucy Mangan points out in the review:

“You’ve just rammed a cow into a hedge,” says Greg sorrowfully after the task of magically making a large object disappear is completed. “Do you think that’s how Siegfried & Roy dominated Vegas all those years?”

What made it so funny in the first episode was the contestants themselves - especially Daisy - just losing it entirely on watching the tasks played back. Loved her, she reacted just how I would.

@jay55

I plug it a lot but Corner Gas on Amazon prime is funny and lighthearted. And it has a film to watch when you run out of episodes.
I love corner gas too. Are you watching the regular one or the animated one?. I wasn't sure about the animated version when it took over but I'm enjoying it. The other Canadian comedies Like are LetterKenny & Trailer park boys

I have similar humour to you - I think you would like:
Nighty Night (Julia Davis but slightly tamer than Sally4Ever)
Kath & Kim - Australian comedy from the early 00s
Cuckoo
Camping (Julia Davis again)

InFiveMins · 16/10/2020 08:25

Also - really good comedy I enjoyed recently was Pen15 on Sky about two teenage girls set in 2002. Not my usual cup of tea but really enjoyed it.

butterpuffed · 16/10/2020 18:34

The Apprentice Best Bits, some of the people in it have been such characters !

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 16/10/2020 18:49

House of Games, Richard Osman is a genius, and we are a competitive family so often watch while we are having our supper off our laps like savages.

Ds2 (aged 22) has yet to live down getting "All The Single Ladies" on the Broken Karaoke round with just the first line (ATSL)
On the other hand I am still revelling in my triumph of getting I will always Love you on just the one letter .
I got one this week on two letters only I have forgotten what it was :o

Otherwise do watch Staged, the fucking liarDavid Tennant and who the fuck is Michael Sheen ....I roared laughing about the neighbour!

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 16/10/2020 18:51

oh bloody hell that was supposed to be

the fucking liar David Tennant and who the fuck is Michael Sheen
