Anyone else looking forward to this drama?
Starts next Tuesday.
Good cast. Makes a change from usual crime thrillers.
@PinkDaydreams Abigail's Party is on BBC4 on Wednesday at 9pm. It's excruciating but worth watching.
Oh good, I love that!

Hopefully it will be on iPlayer as I never remember to watch things when they are on.

Just watched first episode. It made me cry several times. Not read thread for fear of spoilers but I like it and love all the actors. The girl who likes the teacher is very annoying though.

Episode 3. This is absolutely dreadful. What a waste of a decent cast. It's a bbc afternoon programme with a few lesbians chucked in for extra drama and titillation. Awful.

MajesticWhine · 13/10/2020 23:17

I am finding it not very believable. However I think I will stick with it and watch it because I do want to know what happens.

I watched last one last night. Loved the whole series. Yep, probably a bit far fetched, but really shone a spotlight on many issues people face, if only you scratch beneath the surface.
I thought it was well written, and the acting was excellent. I couldn't even say who was my favourite. They were all great. I did find myself with a big soft spot for Alison Steadman's character though.

I am really enjoying this. On episode 4 now.

I always find programmes likes this fascinating as it shows just how much can be going on behind closed doors that you would never know.

Of course all condensed down and dramatised for TV lol

MrsRogerLima · 17/10/2020 21:04

Oh my god he knows. 😂

Lived the early episodes but it drifted and the neat ending was disappointing. Anyone else notice the nod/homage to the Graduate in the last episode?

Rainbowb · 29/10/2020 20:56

Does anyone have the link to the other thread?

I saw Abigail's Party when it was first shown on tv. Saw it in a theatre a couple of years ago. Beverly was played by Amanda Abbington. She was excellent as were all the cast. I didn't enjoy Life as much as I thought I would but loved the old house and the ladies' clothes .

Just bumping this, as keep seeing clips of this on FB and get caught up, so was considering watching, but just checking it's not too heavy/dark? Plus my daughter wants to watch this too (mid teens) so I'm hoping there are no graphic sex scenes in case we watch it together. She'll want the world to swallow her up 😂
