Oh I LOVE this programme! Dh and I had to rewind the bit with the lovelorn 'friend' with the fake tear painted on her perfectly made up face.

Apologies if this has been said before (haven't read whole thread) but I saw an interview with her where she said she never watches her own programmes back. Maybe this is the problem? Seriously though, she's a highly intelligent woman (she was in year above me at university and was known as having a brain the size of a planet) so how CAN she do this stuff without a trace of irony?

Was she really eating ragu on toast at the end? After the French toast donuts?? .OK, I know she wasn't really. but you know what I mean...

OMG I am so pleased to find this thread. Is she mad? I really think someone should question whether she needs sectioning - she has developed a maniacal grin that has haunted me for the past 3 weeks!
So glad it isn't just me that thinks the bus stops, friends etc were fake - do they think we are that easily fooled!!!!

bubblesbabe · 16/10/2007 15:18

what the hell was the getting out of bed with perfect make up and that black dressing gown on!
Also there's a difference between enjoying your food and making yourself look like a pig at a trough!

Raahh · 16/10/2007 18:32

first time i've watched this but have read the comments. it really is like a p++s take. 'Friends are around the corner having drinks and then coming to me for food' she said & rushed off to the shop to buy some lamb - i'd rush round to the pub to join them and bung in a frozen pizza! (But i might still put the book on my christmas list!!)

Raahh · 22/10/2007 21:02

it certainly would be her last meal on earth, if she cooked it like that!

RoyKinnear · 22/10/2007 21:04

ewwwwwwwwwwww

she has officially lost it. Did you see Alan Yentobs face eating the salty peanuts with the choc fudge sauce. He was afraid to say anything in case she gave him the raw chicken...

DANCESwithHughJackman · 23/10/2007 09:59

Nevermind the food...what the hell is going on with her GRAVITY-DEFYING-CARDIGANS that appear to be glued onto her rather ample bosoms?
Everything she makes is soooooooooooooooooooo fattening. As someone eating a low fat diet there's no way I could eat anything she makes. Grrrrr.

ameli · 23/10/2007 21:31

LOL, I thought it was just me who found her show so funny.............shes mad as a brush.......

sockmonkey · 25/10/2007 08:23

I am planning on making those cookies sometime soon.
Do you reckon she has a Larder full of fake friends? Quick I need one who can pretend to sob!
( and don't her kids look miserable, she ought to get some happy looking child actors in for that bit too)

SilverLining · 25/10/2007 10:05

Thinking of doing her chicken with the bacon - did she just pour over the fat (sticking the cooked bacon in the chicken first) and then pour brandy over it??

I need to buy the book ....! X

elliott · 25/10/2007 10:14

Yes, I thought the chicken looked pretty raw. And another thing that annoys me about Nigella is that she often suggests meals with no carbs. Do they really eat like that, or is it just a cheat to make it seem easier? Personally I'd never serve roast chicken without potatoes...
Also, I HATE all this faux 'stupid little me' act - like 'I'm the worst carver in the world' as she cuts perfect thin slices. Like sexy women have to pretend to be stupid and helpless even when they are so evidently not.
Ok rant over....

sockmonkey · 25/10/2007 10:17

I'm sorry but I wouldn't eat bacon that had been in a chicken's ...ahem... cavity.

I think she does great desserts, but the dinners are odd.
