Our Girl Thread 57 "Our Girl Revisited"

We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

Briggsy's gonna be a proud man when he finds out what Debs has been up to.

There's far too much going on and poor, poor Jeremy. Ahhhhhhh!

Now if I was Mrs Lillian, I'd also be very conflicted knowing that Adrian Lester was waiting for me and wanting me back.

Argghhhh - Debs was lying. Oh this is a good way to start married life.

How irresponsible can you be. These were the days before home pregnancy tests.

Debs has been found with drugs in her bag. Briggsy goes to the police station and starts to read her the riot act and asks why she's taking drugs if she's pregnant. She then has to admit what she did and there is no baby.

I think that would be a dealbreaker for me. I'm not sure I could marry somebody knowing they were so deceitful.

So, Debs swapped the urine sample with Kate's and it's really Kate who is pregnant but she doesn't know it.

Meanwhile Angie turns up to ask her hubby to forgive her for being a bit snappy.

"You look terrible!" nice greeting.

Chris McCleod (MacLeod?) is in hospital looking a bit battered.

Debs seems to have apologised to Briggsy. He's easily persuaded!

Debs persuades Briggsy to forgive her. My goodness there are so many candles they are probably responsible for global warming.

Not quite the bedside manner of CJ with Georgie is it!

Jeremy goes back home after a trying night. That is some house if it's owned by the army!

Things don't look good for him. Lilian is going back to South Africa.

Jeremy goes home. Will anyone be there?

Oh no, Lillian has decided she must go back to South Africa. Jeremy is just dying inside, you can see it in his eyes. I'm heartbroken for him.

I wonder if that is the first time Jeremy has ever been in love and to have that happen to him must be absolutely devastating - unlikely - but devastating.

Everyone has now turned up for their new posting at Aldershot.

I rather enjoyed that one.

As ever with Soldier, Soldier, I like the way that the stories are as much about the wives, girlfriends and families as they are about military matters. A lot going on there, but I enjoyed that.

I think you said earlier Rhu that it beats exercises on Salisbury Plain, especially when I can't work out which side is doing what!

I'm going back to the thread about the army delivering vaccines. I'm finding it very amusing.

Bad luck about the streaming eejit. Just your luck to be able to view the episode about the boxing instead. I do hope it's just a small side story and not all about the regiment's honour.

Sounds as if they are going to do some training with the Paras. Not sure if I like Sgt McLeod or not so far.

Angry, shouty PT instructor or is it the shouty sergeant again. They are training for the paras or something like that. Moved on from being a mechanised corps then.

The Colonel's wife gives a pep talk. One of the audience seems less than friendly.

Jeremy goes to see the Colonel and is thinking about resigning his commission. Hmmm, where have we heard that before?

Maybe the fact he's been given his captain's badge might change his mind.
