Is anyone else watching tonight? Caught up with series 1 to 3 as part of my Lockdown binge and found it got better as the series progressed. Really like Tom Burke and think he has great chemistry with Holliday Grainger.

Looking forward to this series! And pleased episode 2 is on Monday!

Thanks MintyCedric !

I dont remember the detail like you but had a memory of her being brave and acting on her own.

Or was it her trying to prove herself?

But this series she has been having these panic attacks - and so it has totally changed the dynamics.

Also find it quite strange the way CBT is presented as a solution.

I thought it was just a cheap form of support rather than actual face to face counselling.

MintyCedric · 15/09/2020 01:53

CBT is really effective if taught well and practised regularly. It does require a fair bit of effort though.

What we don't see in the TV series is that Robin struggles to practice because she feels she has to hide her panic attacks from Matthew.

IntermittentParps · 15/09/2020 09:08

Anyone else a bit Hmm at the idea of Kinvara and her stepson having an affair?

Also, even a small pony would surely be too big to be mistaken for a small child? Not to mention being bloody heavy to carry.

Tlollj · 15/09/2020 10:01

New book is arriving today!

Bravefarts · 15/09/2020 10:18

Mine was supposed to be, and the post just came. But no book. Sad

monkeyonthetable · 15/09/2020 10:24

I love the casting of the leads and the gorgeous shots of London. But the plots are more basic than Famous Five. Hilariously clunky.

TeachesOfPeaches · 15/09/2020 10:31

Just came! It's massive

My book is coming early afternoon by Amazon delivery, I haven’t read the others but watched them all on the TV, I will probably get the other books on Kindle at some point, will it matter if if I read the new one with having just watched the tv series versions.

MintyCedric · 15/09/2020 13:27

I was on Kindle at one minute past midnight but haven't managed to read beyond the pre released sample chapters yet.

LizzieMacQueen · 15/09/2020 14:27

Just finished it. Bit disappointed though love the shots of London and the chemistry between the 2.

I should try the book - the tv programme was a bit too much Midsomer Murders.

Magi84 · 15/09/2020 15:27

Book just been delivered. Truly massive. That's me occupied for a while. Great stuff

The80sweregreat · 15/09/2020 15:45

I'm a bit into the new book now on kindle.
It's ok , but I think it'll be a slow read! I love Robin so much! Bless her.

TwoDrifters2 · 16/09/2020 18:56

Being late to the party, I’ve devoured all the books and the BBC series over the last couple of weeks. Finished the new book today. Feel a little bereft now, if I’m honest Sad

Thedisco2000 · 16/09/2020 20:00

Good news, "Robert Galbraith" has already begun writing the next Strike book! robert-galbraith.com/about/

ABCDay · 17/09/2020 08:32

The actor that plays Strike had a hare lip as a child so that's why his lip is a little bit of an odd shape

Why did you say that, The80sweregreat?

Bravefarts · 17/09/2020 17:45

I imagine because people were saying Tom Burke was ugly. He's not ugly. But he does have a scar from a lip repair. Scars don't make people ugly, they just are.

IntermittentParps · 17/09/2020 18:25

Have people said Tom Burke's ugly?

monkeyonthetable · 17/09/2020 18:44

Tom Burke is so not ugly. Can't imagine anyone thinking he is. I doubt he has problems getting attention.

knittingaddict · 18/09/2020 06:47

Blimey, who said Tom Burke is ugly? He's very fanciable and the lip just adds character. Can't stand perfect facial features. I know that symmetrical faces are supposed to be more attractive, but I dispute that. Strongly.

nibdedibble · 18/09/2020 14:35

So very not ugly I like a man who can give you a bear hug (think most of him is overcoat tbh!)

IntermittentParps · 18/09/2020 15:36

Yeah, he was in The Souvenir and had quite a different wardrobe (no bulky coats, quite slim suits and shirts etc) and he's surprisingly slight.
Mind you, he was quite svelte in The Musketeers too so maybe I shouldn't be surprised.

Bravefarts · 18/09/2020 19:06

Sorry, I think it was on the thread on feminism he was called ugly.

He's not ugly.

Thedisco2000 · 18/09/2020 19:33

And the rest of that thread was others telling OP to go to SpecsaversGrin

ValancyRedfern · 18/09/2020 22:38

Tom Burke is the seciet man on TV IMHO. Just dreaming of War and Peace....

vincettenoir · 18/09/2020 22:43

Absolutely him as Dolokhov in War and Peace. Love him in Strike. He’s so sexy. I’m not that keen on the mysteries which are a bit high concept and silly for me I just watch it for Strike and Robin.
