My favourite episode was on More4 earlier - The Mainland. I've seen it so many times but it still makes me cry laughing.

I love the episode where Father Ted keeps tapping the car, which is being offered as a raffle prize, to remove a tiny dent and it ends up totally banjaxed. He's so nonchalant about it, then wakes up in the night screaming 'OH JESUS WE'RE DEAD. OH GOD ALMIGHTY!'

I love Father Ted, one of the best sitcoms ever written! 😂

One of my favourite lines is when Dougal says to Ted “I wouldn’t know Ted, ya big bollocks!’ 😂 DH and I often say that to each other 😂

Also when Dougal calls Bishop Brennan ‘Len’ and BB replies “You address me by my proper title, ya little bollocks!” 😂

So many hilarious lines from one show! 🤣

It’s not Christmas for me unless I’ve watched the Father Ted special, ideally at about 1am on channel 4, on my own when everyone’s gone to bed.

We nearly called our dog Father Benny Cake, and often regret picking another name.

It's an amazing show. So clever.

Too many brilliant lines to quote. A couple that haven't been mentioned - the hairy hands home " I reeeaalllyy shouldn't be here " and in the lingerie section two quotes spring to mind " aarrggghhh I was messing with this bra strap and it flew back and hit me in the eye" and "I thought I saw someone"

Great series.

Christmas special is probably the favourite.

Love this show. Lots of great bits already mentioned. I think both from the Christmas special - when Ted somehow knows Dougal wants matador stuff as a present. And when Dougal’s guess for the advent picture is ‘Ruud Gullit on a garden shed.’

My dear husband used to love action movies, such as Speed and he roared laughing at the bomb on the milk float scene. The boxes in the middle of the road! 🤣 It didn’t matter how often he watched it, it always set him off.

I loved the caravan one, but my favourite was the fair where they had the tunnel of goats .

My horse is named Dougal in honour of Father Dougal. He didn't have a name when I got him but he was Irish and slightly clueless looking in a jolly sort of way, and my husband said 'it looks as though he is saying 'Oh, I'm a horse then, am I?' in the same tone of voice that Father Dougal says 'I'm a priest then, am I?' to Ted. When I took part in a big competition where I needed a crew I dressed my entire crew in t-shirts with 'My Lovely Horse' and a photo of my horse's head superimposed on a rainbow square on the front. I had lots of people come up to me and sing 'My Lovely Horse' at me, everyone else was completely bemused.
