Couldn't see a new thread so started this one. So we're now into a show of two halves, edited together - pre and post lockdown! Who's shouting "before" "after" at each scene?

I’m glad everyone else is confused. Aliyah knee that Geoff’s Ex wife was called Phillipa so she would have known phillipa was Tim’s mum. So why didn’t she know that when Elaine/phillipa said who she was? It makes no sense. It was no secret that Geoff’s Ex wife was Tim’s mum. I mean Tim isn’t a secret baby that Geoff grew in his cabbage patch!

Didn’t Tim only get back in contact with Geoff once he was in Coronation st? I have a dreadful memory - and these scripts aren’t particularly memorable!

I can’t get over how terrible Aggie’s husband (I forget his name- Ed?) is at acting. It’s painful to watch.

I’ve got back into Corrie after a 7 year absence and there is one storyline I just don’t “get” and need explaining...

What’s going on with Gary, Adam, the woman with the absolutely godawful leather skirt and her daughter?

I don't miss an episode and I haven't a clue! (Sorry... not much help here!)

Gary killed the Loan shark, Rick, and has buried him in the woods.
He feels bad about it so is pretending he is still alive but has gone abroad. Gary is paying money to woman in skirt (Laura) and daughter and making out it’s from Rick.
Adam is on to Gary so was flirting with Laura to see if he could get anymore info/to scare Gary and see if he makes a mistake
Now Rick’s watch has been found in the woods and Adam has it.

Think that’s about right!

Urgh, the dad in the Aggie family is so annoying, why does he speak like thaaaaaaat, tbh the whole family could leave and I wouldn’t care. The younger son could stay at a push.

I was also confused about Tims mum and who bought him up. I think if Geoff had been a single dad from when he was a baby it would have been mentioned by Tim to Sally as part of his dada good character.

Hilarious... they've just shown a clip of Paula Wilcox's FIRST time on Corrie. She was in her teens and it was one of her first acting jobs and it was 1968!

If they’re meant to be at the same time we are in rl so July, they should be wearing masks in the cabin/ devs shop. Maybe they could wear see through ones so we can still see their mouths when they talk

I dipped into Corrie a few months ago when Yasmeen was evidently being coercively controlled, when Geoff was making horrible things up about her being an alcoholic etc.

It’s a very relevant and overdue storyline and I’m glad they’ve done it with more senior cast members.

I can't be doing with listening to Aggie's husband go on and on about how busy she is, and what a saint she is. I'm not sure it even makes sense now. If they're at the same stage as real life - shops, pubs open, etc. then things have eased off significantly in the hospitals, have they not? My friend is a nurse and says her hospital is very much back to normal levels of operation (Scotland though).

Was lovely of Abi to sort her with a car though.

Was Tim living on the streets when he first came into Corrie, I can't quite remember now, but he wasn't with Fayes mum and had never known Faye, Anna took him under her wing and taught him to read and write, and from what I remember he never said much about his upbringing really.

VanGoghsDog I meant that I didn't want Geoff getting away with the abuse of Yasmeen if something happened to her and couldn't get her story heard, I know he's not on trial.

So I've been googling the characters Tim Metcalfe and Geoff Metcalfe, and what back-stories they actually came into Corrie with about their relationship and what Tim supposedly thought of / knew about his mum.

When the bloke auditioned for the role of builder dad, he must have been up against some seriously shite actors to have actually landed the role.

@JamieLeeCurtains I googled too and saw it and I think we’re probably about to be told on screen what was in the info as I think that’s info has been updated very recently due to what was on it so I would holding off on saying just yet.

I don't understand how Adam guessed that Gary killed Rick, its so far fetched (even though he did), and then dopey Ryan clicking that Elaine was Geoff's ex was ludicrous. And what are the odds of Bernie finding that watch, must be a zillion to 1. Ok, rant over.

Just caught up tonight.

The lockdown thing is weird because in England they’re now at the stage of being able to go to the pub etc whereas the Aggie working loads of hours, Abbi giving her Kevs car, Mary singing out the window, animals everywhere and ‘stay safe’ are all very April/May lockdown for me. I know they can only do what their can do and those things help to reinforce the whole ‘covid is happening in Corrie too’ thing.

Yes, seeing as how most of the female cast of Corrie have been in HMP Wetherfield Women's Wing at some point, I don't think they bother much with ID.

Agree about the awful acting of the builder dad.

They are all awful actors and I have zero interest in the family apart from Michael, he definitely has potential as a good character and he can act.
