Couldn't see a new thread so started this one. So we're now into a show of two halves, edited together - pre and post lockdown! Who's shouting "before" "after" at each scene?

I suppose it's the nature of Soaps that there's a limited pool of potential love interests as script writers aren't going to introduce randoms as new girlfriends/boyfriend hence the Carla/Peter/Leanne/Nick partner swapping.

Toyah doesn't quite work with anyone. Her and Imran seem uncomfortable somehow - and what the hell are they doing in a flat share?! And where did the idea of fostering come from? Surely they'd have had lots of conversation about it? It seemed like it was an idea from nowhere one night, and the next they were being interviewed.

I know! It was almost like... how about fostering, by the way we have an appointment this afternoon about it!

I find it strange how there always seems to be so many people in a home. You never see a couple just sitting in their own home alone having a normal couple conversation- like you would expect Imran and toyah to have about fostering. Instead it’s always public conversation because Craig or Aliyah or Ryan is there or in Sally’s house, Geoff or Faye is there, in David’s house there’s usually a whole troop of people around. In the classic Corrie you see private conversations between don and josie, Mike and alma, sally and Kevin, Martin And Gail etc.

The problem with Toyah is that she seems to be a 'nothing' character. She's very pleasant and understanding, but there isn't anything else. Do Sarah and Adam still live with Gail and David and the rest?

Nice to catch up with all your comments. I’m so glad we managed without having zero Corrie unlike Eastenders. I think they have done covid well in 20y the kids will watch old episodes and be able to notice what all us oldies have told them about it.

I do hope man in pub has gone for good with his dark secret nobody cares about. Got confused about wedding talk as had forgotten about Maria and Gary just so not a couple. Can’t she dump him and Gary drive off in the sunset please.

I prefer Toyah to Leanne, but yes agreed she doesn’t seem to have much chemistry with Imran. Bring back Spider, he could now be part of Extinction Rebellion!

Leanne seems to be more of a likeable and sympathetic character though all of a sudden - wonder how long for though?

I do that and then I get lost down a rabbit hole of old characters/storylines I’d forgotten about!

Didn't think much of the casserole Leanne brought round for Toyah and Imran, it looked just about enough to feed a small child. Imran is very pretty but God he is a rubbish actor.

I'm amazed how much I have forgotten when I go into the rabbit hole.
Is imran vegan, I wonder what they do about food. I'd want a nice big pyrex of casserole, not half a small Tupperware. Better than frozen sausages though.

Toyah was a good character back when she was young, her and Spider being hippies and I think living on the red rec for a while? Am I imagining that?

Since she’s come back she’s either had no storyline or something totally ridiculous. Who would go with their sister’s ex husband who cheated on them with their best mate? Who would decide to borrow a baby off their sister’s sister and pass off as their own???

Yes, I thought the casserole was disappointingly frugal after all the build-up.

Maybe Props tipped a tin of Costco stew into someone's lunchbox because the ceramic casserole dish had gone missing.

I think Toyah and Spider camped out on the Red Rec to see an eclipse or something and that was when she and Spider shagged for the first time.

Looked it up Polo and both of those things happened! Camped for eclipse then lived there later when Toyah got thrown out of Emily’s

I'd forgotten they lived there. Toyah could've given Sean some tips when he was homeless a while back!

Watching Wednesday’s now, I like Leanne’s yellow top.

I think the point of the sausages became clearer here - Steve is under a lot of pressure re Oliver and displaced it to sausage rage. Not very well done though.

I don't think Steve has the acting chops to pull off sausage rage.

I stopped watching for a bit while the quad stuff was going on - What did that woman and her ex-mate do to Gemma?
