Couldn't see a new thread so started this one. So we're now into a show of two halves, edited together - pre and post lockdown! Who's shouting "before" "after" at each scene?

Yes that was an expensive bottle of cheap plonk. Maria and the song lyrics was bizarre. It’s this or nothing though so we have to hope it’ll improve or we’ll get used to the changes.

I don’t mind the changes and I much prefer less episodes.

Geoff bought the wine in the pub because he was snooping. I’d have thought Jenny would’ve come back at him for calling him her mother. She’s no timid weakling. You’d think Geoff wouldn’t be showing that nasty side to people when he’s trying to convince everyone that he’s perfect and Yasmeen was the tyrant.

Adam is being a prat at the moment though with his Windass obsession - I can see why Sarah is naffed if with him.

I agree with everyone's comments. the writing is 'quirky' it's like the kids (writers) have no adults supervising them and they've gone a bit rogue!!

For a spot of quirky, I enjoyed the invention of Brian's treasure hunt sex game, where he scans his (broken?) metal detector over Cathy, searching for a 20p piece she has secreted somewhere about her person. That's some hot action right there. And not weird at all.

Woykdnt it be a bit sexier if it was Adam and he used an airport security wand? Cause I reckon brain is the type to wear his wellies and gardening hat in bed tbh.

It would be sexier and far more realistic as a bedroom activity, but then Adam doesn't work in the shop to put him in position to relate this anecdote to a nonplussed Sally, who has a horrified expression as she handles her change.

The Brian and Kathy thing was seriously cringey, not funny.

Last nights episode was odd. Obviously they have to social distance but it meant the aftermath of the hit and run looked weird and then at the hospital Sarah’s friend and husband would usually hug her instead they were so far apart!

The episode dedicated too much time to awful Ed and Aggie. Who cares that it is their wedding anniversary.

Maria's whole part in that episode was bizarre. Her comments, the hero worshipping, removing her mask. And, I just didn't think she seemed that concerned. Maybe that was difficult to get across with the lack of hugging and touching though. Maybe they have to rein in the crying.

I was thinking that ‘he flipped in the air like a rag doll’ was how someone described Liam’s hit and run.

Yes, I immediately thought of Liam's accident when she said it, but then she made no mention of that and just got weirder!

Didn't Maria say something about how she'd read in the Gazette about someone who'd been knocked down and that's how they described it? And she wanted to know if that is what actually happens. [disclaimer: I kind of zoned out]

Last nights was odd. Storylines have been messed up with not only the actors abiding by Covid guidelines but also the actors as their characters. Tricky I guess.

Storylines I can think of being put "on hold" due to Covid are - Johnny and relationship with pub b&b lodger as Johnny is supposedly in Spain; Asha's problems at school as school is suspended; new Bistro as that would be closed; anything to do with Ken or Evelyn (or any of the oldies) as actors over 70. Some courts are open with appropriate distancing so they should be able to go ahead with Yazmine's trial.

Johnny is supposedly in France, not Spain.

I didn’t watch it when Maria’s husband was killed by a driver but SURELY you’d make reference to that if your current partner was then hit by a car too? You’d certainly not be asking about being thrown through the air, it was like a something from a bad comedy that line.
