Ohwhatthe I was thinking the same. When I did cookery it was called Domestic Science and I was making a skirt in Needlework classes in 1977

Carbonara fan here too. I miss cheapo Italian restaurants.

It was 'domestic science' here too; cookery and sewing. The teacher was a wee dainty morsel of a creature and at 13 or so I was already a head taller than her and weighed a fair bit more. She used to make me feel like a heifer and I did not shine in the subject.

(Later went on to be a keen baker and also made a lot of my own clothes so I guess her malign influence didn't manage to scar me for life after all)

You do NOT put cream in carbonara. I make a mean one it's a Genaro Contaldo recipe. It's my favourite food
