I keep finding stuff that’s ok but not that memorable.

Can be anything - comedy/drama/thriller. Open to subtitles.

Thanks!

@bert3400 I second unorthodox! Incredible.
Also God by Morgan Freeman on Netflix

BreathlessCommotion · 04/06/2020 21:38

The German TV series Dark (Netflix)
Unorthodox (Netflix)
Derry Girls (All4)
Little Fires Everywhere (Prime)

And I would recommend using the Apple trial, not much on there yet but 2 really good series

Servant
The Morning Show

Genuinely 2 of the best I have seen this year

My favourites;

Handmaids Tale
Save Me
Little Fires Everywhere
Normal People
Unorthodox

I love The A Word but only because of the family storylines (it’s wildly Disneyfied in terms of Autism, Downs Syndrome and SEN)

Our Girl

The Nest

The Split

Hidden

The Victim

Keeping Faith

Penance on Channel 5

The Last Dance on Netflix. All about American basketball. I’m not even a sports fan but I really enjoyed this documentary series .

BlueRaincoat1 · 04/06/2020 22:15

Giri/Haji on Netflix! Its really really good. A thriller set in Tokyo and London. 8 episodes I think. I wish I wasn't finished it, really enjoyed it.

bluejelly · 04/06/2020 22:19

Normal People
Unorthodox
Giri/Haji
All excellent

Cupasoup76 · 04/06/2020 22:21

The Staircase on Netflix. It’s a documentary and a bit dodgy if you’re squeamish (there are photos shown of a woman’s body and a lot of blood) but it was absolutely brilliant. Not a lot keeps my interest these days but this did. Also as someone said up thread, Gameface. Brilliant comedy.

Smithtylater · 04/06/2020 22:23

Unorthodox is brilliant...
"13th" is a documentary that will stay with you...

MummytoCSJH · 04/06/2020 22:28

Just started White Collar and I'm really enjoying it!

atilathehut · 04/06/2020 22:57

The last kingdom but start from series one - it's one of those you have to put the next episode on straight away because you can't wait!

covetingthepreciousthings · 04/06/2020 22:59

Normal People, can't stop thinking about it, one of the most beautiful tv series I've ever watched, it's really affected me.

viques · 04/06/2020 23:07

DIx per cent (call my agent) French with subtitles about an actors agency, great characters, with amazing vignettes from a list French actors playing themselves as themselves iyswim.

Better Call Saul,

Life in Pieces very funny, amazing cast,

viques · 04/06/2020 23:12

if you like unorthodox , have you tried Shietzel ? Never knew orthodox Jewish people men drank and smoked so much. Warning, I got really involved then it stopped very suddenly at the end of a season with too many unanswered questions.

Ohnonotnow · 04/06/2020 23:19

Bit of an old one but Line of Duty is very good. BBC I think. The Nest was good too

NeedanIdea · 04/06/2020 23:21

Killing Eve, Killing Eve, Killing Eve. It is just fantastic. The last episode has left me so obsessed I am bereft now that it's over... till I start again from the beginning.

Honestly, it's all I want to watch right now. I think it's left me with an love hangover.... and I'm straight!

BeardedMum · 04/06/2020 23:23

Schitts creek!!

GinWithRosie · 04/06/2020 23:33

Loved Schitts Creek 😂

Modern Family and New Amsterdam on Prime are good.

I'm currently watching the Jeffrey Epstein thing on Netflix...it's eye opening 😱

Bunnymumy · 04/06/2020 23:38

Schitts creek definately got me in the feels.

I second Morgan Freemans 'God' if you want something uplifting/humbling ect...

viques · 04/06/2020 23:39

I had to pay for it, but cheaper than a cinema , but Honeyland is a stunning and heartbreaking documentary about a woman who lives in a very remote place (somewhere in Europe) and makes her living harvesting wild honey. Her way of life is so isolated and austere , in this deserted village with her ancient mother , a cute dog and some very grubby cats, then a family from hell move into the area...........I have watched it a couple of times now, only wish I had caught it at a proper cinema.
