Starts on monday, I don't want to say anything about Jacks personality and get the thread deleted but I'm going to be interested to see how it goes. Jamie's show has been great even now he's just filming on his phone and I've picked up lots of tips - like the roasting of veg then blending to make a pasta sauce. After all of Jacks deleted tweets she's set the bar very high for herself and I'm hoping she does smash it

OP posts:

I can’t help thinking Matt must be infuriated with the tech issues etc. It’s like amateur hour.

JemimaTab · 18/04/2020 18:41

Good grief - she is off on another Twitter meltdown now. It’s not even clear to me what this one’s about, but she’s hinting at suing someone. Exhausting.

GrimmsFairytales · 18/04/2020 19:11

Do we know if she's in the studio on Monday yet?

It would put an end to the tech issues.

WotnoPasta · 18/04/2020 19:41

I had a look, not a scooby what she is on about.
I’m sure they did say she is in on Monday.

WickedlyPetite · 18/04/2020 21:08

Christ almighty I hope someone from the BBC has seen all that drivel she posted... and has now deleted. She's a loose cannon, no professional company should want to work with that.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 18/04/2020 21:12

I missed it all. I made and then troughed Jamie’s stuffed naan Blush

It doesn’t sound like Auntie’s thang at all though really 😬

WickedlyPetite · 18/04/2020 21:24

We had stuffed naan's for lunch yesterday , they were excellent.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 18/04/2020 21:33

Weren’t they though? Smile

JemimaTab · 18/04/2020 21:49

She was taking the BBC’s name in vain somewhat, suggesting that she could use the BBC to take action against the “offenders”, whoever they are. (Just sounds like some gossip website having a discussion.). I doubt the BBC would be very keen on that.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 18/04/2020 21:50

Eeee. 😬

TheThingWithFeathers · 18/04/2020 22:57

I saw those messages earlier and couldn't imagine any other BBC presenter a) posting shite like that in the first place or b) getting away with it if they did...

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 18/04/2020 23:24

@JemimaTab

I now totally see why you posted that about the twittering yesterday. Jeezo.

GrimmsFairytales · 19/04/2020 10:34

She's a loose cannon, no professional company should want to work with that.

She's really not doing herself any favours here. I believe this is her first presenting job? I'm not saying she should try and fit in, but she's in the public eye in a way she hasn't been before. If she can't stop ranting online then she needs to step away from twitter.

Quartz2208 · 19/04/2020 13:13

JO was the right and best choice for Channel 4 (and it was nice to see his emotions come out about it all). He has been on the Channel 4 since 2002 and most of his programming goes out on there. He is the Channels chef

WotnoPasta · 19/04/2020 15:11

I can imagine channel 4 looked at her recipes and decided they weren’t their market at all.
The cooking I see JO doing is stretching out what you have, mostly based around fresh ingredients. Don’t think I’ve seen him use a tin yet? It’s certainly not about cheap cooking, it’s a totally different thing.

KaronAVyrus · 19/04/2020 15:25

I think the best thing Jack could do for her career is lay off Twitter for a couple of months. She tweets A LOT. To the extent that it’s not normal.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 19/04/2020 15:49

I don’t think ch4 just looked at the recipes....

WotnoPasta · 19/04/2020 15:56

@Awight Grin

GrimmsFairytales · 19/04/2020 16:51

She tweets A LOT. To the extent that it’s not normal.

Agreed.

JemimaTab · 19/04/2020 17:04

Her Twittering is a bit manic/obsessive. It’s not healthy at all. Plus, for someone who claims to work 20 hours a day every day, she seems to spend a LOT of time on social media.

BillieEilish · 19/04/2020 19:47

But she can't seem to say anything nice about anything. Anything constructive about cooking, add anything whatsoever.

MT 'What do you think Jack?'

(fish and chios and mushy peas)

JM 'Yuk, I can't get near mushy peas, I hate mushy peas. Thank God they're separate, I can't get past the mushy peas'

MT 'Jack, any more tips? I see you have a lemon?'

JM (giggles manically)

'Yes, I need this as I can't keep still, waffle waffle about myself'

MT 'Jack, any comments about xyz?'

JM 'No I'll just finish my fantastic brown bread icecream and pass that question over'

She's awful in this.
I agree MT is losing patience fast. She adds zero, she takes away.

covetingthepreciousthings · 19/04/2020 19:50

Yes I saw that twitter rant, and I actually think it would be best for her career at this point to step away from Twitter.
It's not doing her any favours.

mum2jakie · 19/04/2020 19:55

I haven't watched since the first two episodes. They were shit and doesn't sound as though it got any better!

GrimmsFairytales · 19/04/2020 20:14

Anything constructive about cooking, add anything whatsoever.

Yes i've noticed this. She goes off on a tangent and never seems to really focus on the food, giving suggestions / alternatives. It's either very negative, or waffle about herself.

JemimaTab · 19/04/2020 20:23

The “over to you, Paul” on Friday’s show when Matt asked her a question was excruciating. (Although Paul did at least have some good suggestions.)
