Starts on monday, I don't want to say anything about Jacks personality and get the thread deleted but I'm going to be interested to see how it goes. Jamie's show has been great even now he's just filming on his phone and I've picked up lots of tips - like the roasting of veg then blending to make a pasta sauce. After all of Jacks deleted tweets she's set the bar very high for herself and I'm hoping she does smash it

OP posts:
Handiies · 24/04/2020 06:53

I'm not new to MN. Been here for years.

This is in telly not aibu Biscuit

Have you tried this site to be vile about mums tattle.life/

BillieEilish · 24/04/2020 07:41

This is in telly not aibu Biscuit

@donquixotedelamancha did not say this was aibu, she said you should avoid it.

Nobody is being 'vile about mums'. We were discussing quite happily and justifiably a rather inadequate presenter who has done nothing but herself been try unpleasant about other presenters and their cooking while churning out 'sloppy' things. (Her own words)

donquixotedelamancha · 24/04/2020 07:51

did not say this was aibu, she said you should avoid it.

My fault. I should have guessed PP would have difficulty following points made ironically. I didn't really think she was new to MN either.

Have you tried this site to be vile about mums

#Be kind.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 24/04/2020 08:15

I’ve also been here for years.

Vile and grim seem to be the new buzzwords for the permanently outraged. Not forgetting be kind.

Which is oft said by those who are not.

You can advertise your tattle as much as you like. I’m fine here thanks.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 24/04/2020 08:19

Today’s recipe will be a sandwich. No doubt invented by the queen of mince.

Chickpea butty anyone?

Handiies · 24/04/2020 08:21

Why even mention aibu if this isn't there Hmm

You can advertise your netmums as much as you like, I'm happy here. But disappointed especially in the wake of Caroline flack who killed herself over this kind of trolling, that mnhq haven't deleted this yet. They're usually pretty on the ball.

Will be hiding the thread.

You lot will have a better life being pleasent to people, especially mums raising children.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 24/04/2020 08:24

So now we are trolls?

Aren’t you the sweetie? Have an eye roll 🙄

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 24/04/2020 08:25

@Handiies I will defend Tattle again and again as it’s basically the same as Mumsnet but with a greater focus on Sleb Gossip and Instagrammers.

IMVHO Tattle - unlike MN - encourages balanced debate and has managed to hold certain perpetually pisstaking influencers to account meaning they now have to declare #ad #spon more than ever.

Back to my point though, Jack Monroe is an internet troll herself - stop defending her “because she’s a mum”. JO is has children too. Didn’t stop her hatcheting him online and actively encouraging her fans to do likewise.

GrimmsFairytales · 24/04/2020 08:26

Mn is about helping and supporting women. Not tearing down someone that's a mum trying to work

So we shouldn't criticize her shocking TV performance, because she's a mum trying to work.

Despite the fact Jack was only given the job because she criticized a man, who is a dad and tying to work.

Do you see the irony here?

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 24/04/2020 08:29

If you think she is a good presenter then fine. I’m sorry but I don’t think so.

Like I’ve said, we can’t be fabulous at everything. She isn’t a presenter. So what? She can do ninety million things with tins. They don’t seem to be my taste either but can imagine that those who were buying trays and trays of tins of chickpeas when they were panic shopping will be absolutely delighted.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 24/04/2020 08:30

Were you one of them? Smile

WickedlyPetite · 24/04/2020 10:29

Matt does not give one fuck today...

Jack making a salad dressing... Matt: "That's a Jamie Oliver recipe isn't it?"

Howling Grin

donquixotedelamancha · 24/04/2020 10:46

You can advertise your netmums as much as you like

Damn, you've seen through my cunning plan. You might like my website hun.

mrsbyers · 24/04/2020 11:00

She’s terrible , I have no view on her past outbursts etc but her constant looking at the wrong camera and flashing an inane grin coupled with those disgusting trainers she wears are too much - I get that they’re trying to reflect that people are cooking from tins and lower budgets but it’s not a good watch at all with her on

SunshineCake · 24/04/2020 11:50

What is this programme called please? Cheers Grin. I need to see what JM replied to the dressing question.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 24/04/2020 11:57

Daily kitchen live - is the official name Wink

Janaih · 24/04/2020 12:10

@WickedlyPetite he didnt! GrinShock

Matt is brilliant, hats off to him.

ChipsyChopsy · 24/04/2020 12:22

Re forearms. I think lots of chefs have good forearms. I recall Nick Nairn's on Ready Steady Cook in 1998...

But yes Matt is rather attractive.

Crismelissarose · 24/04/2020 12:24

@Handiies
Mn is about helping and supporting women.

I'm shocked this thread has not been deleted yet.

............... It's grim

I so totally agree with you! It's grim. Do people not have more important things to worry about at the moment? Maybe their only pleasure is to tear people down. It's only a cookery programme for goodness sake. Amazing how many have kept "watching" and having it on tv in the background, even though they find it so horrible. At least it has temporarily kept quite a few from the really grim news that we are all facing a deadly virus

Good news everyone, the programme is over! what will you do next week?

TheHumansAreDefinitelyDead · 24/04/2020 12:40

May have to watch this! I like the concept of her cheap make-do approach to cooking

Crismelissarose · 24/04/2020 12:44

@ GrimmsFairytales (love the name, so apt for this thread we should call this the tale of Jack and Jamie!)

Despite the fact Jack was only given the job because she criticized a man, who is a dad and trying to work.

Do you see the irony here?

You mean the Dad who is a multi multi millionaire chef who really needs the work?
The one who made over a 1,000 jobless last year when his restaurant business failed? The one who tells us to make fresh pasta if you can't find the dried stuff! Because finding 00 flour is so easy. Smile Do you see the irony here?

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 24/04/2020 12:46

Good news everyone, the programme is over! what will you do next week?

Rejoice probably. Grin

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 24/04/2020 12:47

I found 00 flour.

No feckin tins of chickpeas, beans or tomatoes though.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 24/04/2020 12:49

Although to be fair I wouldn’t be cooking her recipes as I like to be able to chew some of my food.

SunshineCake · 24/04/2020 12:57

Thank you *@AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff.
