Apologies if there's already a thread, but I couldn't see one. Anyone watching? Apparently this is a new series.

I'm waiting for the bench seats to make their inevitable appearance......Grin

Oh yeah Angela's reaction to the small sink was hilarious.

MrsCollinssettled · 06/05/2020 18:04

I liked Robert's idea of a self contained flat at the top to make the most of the view but it was the things like putting the bed on a platform which would be a huge trip hazard. It would have been difficult to put a bedside table between the bed and the sink so nowhere to easily put a bedside lamp, glasses, drink, book etc. The lift would bring a lot of ongoing maintenance issues and there didn't seem to be an alternative means of access if the lift wasn't working. I wouldn't want to be the paramedics trying to get him out of the bedroom if he tripped on the bed platform.

Perhaps the bench seats are comfortable if you've consumed something illicit? At least chairs and sofas can be moved around to be sociable rather than being forced to sit in a line.

I felt she maybe his 2nd wife

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 06/05/2020 19:03

coveting damn I don’t have Instagram.

ArgumentativeAardvaark · 06/05/2020 19:13

I have had an Instagram account for a long time with nothing in it, so I can see other people’s posts, even though I am not interested in posting anything myself. It’s pretty quick and easy to get in.

Sertchgi123 · 06/05/2020 20:10

What a beautiful house and what a disappointing renovation! Boring, bland, and a poor use of space. Rubbish!

MrsJamin · 06/05/2020 20:33

The live Instagram Laura did was interesting, I guess its only up for another hour or so unless it becomes a igtv thing. She said there was a loo downstairs, which I thought there must be because of Building regs and all. She insinuated they were very difficult clients with pretty much no design taste at all. They kept changing her designs so really there was little point in the design when key bits were taken out, like the blue ceiling etc. I do wonder what people do if they like both designs and want to combine them, or do neither? Surely they have those options? Or do they just get booted off the programme if that happens? So it's Laura: 4 Robert: 1 this series, that's not great for Rob is it?

peachypetite · 06/05/2020 20:56

I’m on insta but can’t see that post?

littlejalapeno · 06/05/2020 21:37

Robert’s idea was much better this week, I’m surprised they went for Laura’s! They’ve made it very clear throughout the show the the clients were very involved and overrode Laura’s ideas In favour of their own, eg staircase... end product doesn’t look as good imo

covetingthepreciousthings · 06/05/2020 21:55

I’m on insta but can’t see that post?

Have you clocked on her story? The profile picture and then click the 'view live' rather than story. It might have timed out now though.

fascinated · 06/05/2020 22:17

Underwhelmed by both designs this week and yes, really weird that no account taken of his mobility issues.

Hamsterian · 07/05/2020 20:19

I felt really bad for the man, knocking about on his own in that house for 5 days a week. Not that having the wife for company would improve things, they really didn’t seem to get on at all!

Rebelwithallthecause · 07/05/2020 20:47

That’s how I felt

They seem really mis-matched and she was terribly unlikable

She came across a bit controlling too.

fascinated · 07/05/2020 21:59

I didn’t get a sense that they didn’t get on?

fascinated · 07/05/2020 22:01

I’ve just watched the one with the young couple and the baby ...

What a shame they didn’t get the roof terrace out of their master bed! Do we know why? Dangerous for kids, perhaps? Didn’t want a flat roof?

Poor Robert’s not doing very well this series, is he?

cushioncovers · 08/05/2020 07:44

I didn’t get a sense that they didn’t get on?

I got the feeling they got on as long as he did as he was told.

ArgumentativeAardvaark · 08/05/2020 09:13

Oh well, he won’t be home alone now!

fascinated · 08/05/2020 09:21

Why not? Because of the space for 20 visitors?

ArgumentativeAardvaark · 08/05/2020 09:43

No, I mean because she won’t have been at work due to lockdown.

covetingthepreciousthings · 08/05/2020 11:39

The insta live with Laura has been uploaded onto the grid of @ Makeitmorgeous so you can still watch it, as well as some other posts with info about the house this week if anyone is interested.

fascinated · 08/05/2020 11:46

Ah right sorry yes!

ArgumentativeAardvaark · 08/05/2020 12:19

Thanks for that link! I am just watching and there are some interesting nuggets in there. For example, they couldn’t get a stair designer/installer to do a proper set of drawings for realising Laura’s design so the couple were, understandably, reluctant to commit a huge amount of money when they couldn’t guarantee how it would turn out.

Also Laura hilariously referred to Robert’s red vestibule as “more of a vulva-vule” Grin

MrsJamin · 08/05/2020 12:23

Vulvavule! 😂👌
