I am not a huge fan of Brian whatshisname but Jim Davidson is being at total tosser to him and I am disappointed with Paul Young for standing there and saying nothing.

Are you a bigot? Do you consider yourself to be better than black people or homosexual people because you are white and apparently heterosexual? No? so where do you draw the line?

We have the right to freedom of speech - but only to a certain extent. INciting racial hatred for example is against the law.

Yes I think people have a right to have an opinion whether or not I agree with that, but I also think that people have the right to go through their lives without getting racial abuse, without getting abuse for their sexuality, without getting abuse for their religion - are you saying that they have less rights than someone spouting views, which our society is strongly against and which our society legislates against to a certain extent.

Human rights belong to those being abused as well as those doing the abusing.

JD does encourage hatred when he makes racist jokes, he does encourage hatred when he makes homophobic jokes.

And please tell me that you don't think that the whole of his generation are racist/homophobic etc, cos my parents ain't, my inlaws ain't, my friends of that age ain't. I'm not saying I've haven't met people of that age with those opinion, but no more of them than of say my generation. His age has nothing to do with it.

Oh and aligning me with Bin Laden is so ludicrous it is funny.

Yes he was out of order but brian is definately playing the victim. yes he is a prat jd but he is politically uncorrect etc..... but he does make a point. do all the white heterosexual males from that era join a club of people who understand and do not take offence at their language.

My dh reckons it was all a ploy to get him some publicity, after all people do go to see his stand up and he is very politically incorrect in that.

Dh thinks the notoriety will actually boost Jim's career.

That being said the programme producers selected them all knowing full well that Jim has views and Brian is as camp as they come. It was probably a dream come true for them.
