The Clinical Lead at my DD's hospital had to give three months notice before she took off, but that's real life, in Casualty or Holby you can just pop to your locker mid shift, get your stuff, and waltz off into a different life.

I'm quite pleased if Connie's left, I've always found her pretty annoying. But unless she's fallen under a bus or something it's going to be yet another of those ridiculous instances where someone who must be contractually bound to give notice is allowed to walk with apparently no consequences. I wonder whether the GMC would frown on a consultant leaving her employers and colleagues in the lurch?

I wonder who will be the new clinical lead? There's no one ampong the current cast that leaps out so maybe a new cast member? (not a spoiler - I know nothing!)

Dylan filled in when she was away, so maybe him? There aren't really any other senior doctors left now, so if not him then yes, I think a new person. They could really do with some more doctors anyway.

Jan really is a terrible liar, and Ffion can't be much of a detective if she hasn't picked up on it!

Is it just me or did that episode seem to have a lot of missing info? The backstory to the jailbreaker and the garage couple seemed very sketchy, as did Ollie's reasons for misunderstanding Rosa's plans.

Jan has always been a sensible type - how can she possibly have thought that she could call a halt to the drug smuggling once she'd started it? (It did seem to be a huge operation to import just one or two packets of drugs!!)

Yeah, I wasn't impressed by the jail/garage storyline. I kept thinking, are we supposed to have met these characters before? Especially as the woman was played by someone quite well-known.

I hope Ian is going to help bring an end to the silly drugs thing so Jan can stop being so ridiculously shifty.

They said she was "away", I think? I was on the alert for mentions of her so I did notice that. Perhaps when the scriptwriters have caught up with Amanda Mealing's career plans there'll be a proper explanation!

Found it! This has been bugging me...About 30 minutes in rosa is talking to david about people being stuck at (implied dying in) the hospital and she says “unless you’re connie... and then you can take some leave and go off With your precious healthy daughter”

Her son either was stillborn or died when he was really young i can't remember which now - i think it might be died really young

I think he had cancer and died when young which is why she spilt with her first husband and came to uk to work

I may have made this up though I was convinced the actress who played connie had also had breast cancer when the character did abd her real life female partner had it too and had died. I was absolutely certain I had read it but it was mostly not true, she’s happily married to a man since 1998 although she did have cancer. So my memory is - bizarre
