Thought better start a thread as no one else had

Next sat looks good - with poor ruby struggling to juggle work and harmony

And matty pushes jade to the limit

Also, it will probably be flagged quite quickly if Jan and Leon keep being the attending paramedics for all the prison related incidents? You would have thought she'd be expected to give those calls a wide berth given that's where her son is, surely?

JimmyJabs · 07/03/2021 14:27

It just hasn't been thought through, has it?

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/03/2021 15:07

Def agree JAN wouidnt do that

Let’s hope was a one off

But it won’t be as if the text

So everytime they want drugs they will hurt someone to get a crew

SoupDragon · 07/03/2021 15:46

There seemed to be a distinct lack of urgency around tending to the prisoner who had had his throat cut.

FoonySpucker · 07/03/2021 15:52

Oh, and I had almost forgotten about the overdose at the end - presumably as a result of the drugs Jan smuggled in. One more thing for her to wring her hands about.

It's a ludicrous storyline.

How long does she think she can continue to steal drugs without being noticed?

As @Blondeshavemorefun says, how many ambulance calls will there be before somebody notices a pattern?

Are the "casualties" harming themselves as part of the plan, or are they being deliberately harmed by others?

How much is an airport security type ziplock bag of assorted pills going to be worth to anyone anyway?

It's not exacly El Chapo is it?

Fromage · 07/03/2021 17:40

This Jan storyline is awful and I'm just going to ffwd through it. It's embarrassingly bad.

Perhaps Ross will end up dead after a Calpol and Mr Bump plaster overdose, courtesy of his mum. Here's hoping. Ridiculous writing. Are the writers all off their heads on cheapo BBC issue hand gel?

JustDanceAddict · 07/03/2021 19:21

I was also shouting at the TV re Jan!! She’s been one of my favourite characters and they’ve spoiled it now as there no way she would’ve agreed to be a drug runner. Wtaf!!

purpleme12 · 07/03/2021 22:49

This is what I mean about them not being themselves
I don't think she was like 'Jan' last week

And At the start where the gran died they went in and just didn't even try -surely they'd at least try??!

Charlie's facial expression made me laugh when Jacob said put a donation in and we'll forget about it 😂

SoupDragon · 08/03/2021 11:27

Charlie's facial expression made me laugh when Jacob said put a donation in and we'll forget about it

Was that because he had a facial expression? 😂

I didn't know Jan from her previous appearance so at least I don't have that distraction. It's still daft though - even I knew it was going to be an ongoing job rather than a one off and I'm a complete innocent.

JustDanceAddict · 08/03/2021 13:13

Purpleme - I think jan wanted her drugs so didn’t bother w cpr or whatever.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/03/2021 13:31

Plus said it happened 30min ago so def dead

Haha, it wasn't so much a facial expression as the result of a mildly annoying bit of trapped wind, but it was touching that he tried.
CherryValanc · 08/03/2021 16:20

J wondered if Jan's friend that died in the nursing home was supposed to be foreshadowing. That woman called the police about her granddaughter. Will Jan eventually report her son?

purpleme12 · 08/03/2021 16:24

Ah I don't know if they've been that clever and well thought out about clues! 😂

CherryValanc · 08/03/2021 16:30

Probably giving them too much credit alright.

I just don't want this storyline and would like it ended next week!!

TheOneTheOnlyPedroPony · 08/03/2021 17:15

Thankfully I don't have much knowledge of how nursing homes work but would someone really have their drugs in their room anyway? Wouldn't staff have them locked away to administer as and when and check they are being taken correctly? Or would that depend on the patients capacity?

HettySunshine · 09/03/2021 07:00

Controlled drugs need to be locked away in any professional care provision afaik.

Care providers can't just leave strong painkillers lying around for any unscrupulous person to snaffle.

FoonySpucker · 09/03/2021 08:16

Care providers can't just leave strong painkillers lying around for any unscrupulous person to snaffle.

Exactly!!! Even if this were the case, I am sure that someone at the care home would have soon noticed that a load of tablets had suddenly gone missing.

Where did Jan get hold of the rest of her jamboree bag of pills?

It is totally implausible and frankly insulting to the viewers.

spiderlight · 09/03/2021 12:18

Pills would definitley not be in a drawer like that. My dad was in a nursing home for years and his meds came round in a locked drugs trolley exactly as they would in hospital. I can't see how Jan would have got that big bagful of pills even if she'd been taking them from patients who died at home, anyway - it's all just so implausible.

JimmyJabs · 09/03/2021 13:44

I'm really irritated just thinking about how shit and implausible it is! I know Casualty stretches our suspension of disbelief to the limit at the best of times but failing to do basic fact checking about the way controlled drugs are stored and accessed is taking it way too far.

The whole story line is completely ridiculous and is making me cross. If it drags on I might have to take a break which is sad as I usually love it.
EdgedInBlue · 13/03/2021 22:05

Ok. Who sets up their pram frame miles from the car and who gets the car seat out of the car before the frame is set up?

JimmyJabs · 13/03/2021 22:17

All these people going through emotional breakups and traumatic events and managing not to touch each other!

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 14/03/2021 09:46

Agree about the social distancing rules stretching belief about scenes where you'd expect proper demonstrations of feeling, as with the Lev and Faith break-up one.

So Grace now wants to be a paramedic. Not quite what Connie had in mind - you could almost see the look of disgust (rather than disappointment) on her face...
