Eastenders has got pretty dark lately - kill off a teenager, alcohol abuse, gone to prison by mistake storyline which reflects on child abuse, a manipulative parent lying about cancer, DV and Daniel dying! I'm surprised they haven't used Covid-19 to their advantage. I suppose a pandemic storyline hasn't been done before. If Honey was in it we would have seen her talking about it in the Minute Mart.

I don't know how the Whitney storyline will end. Have they found that Leo was watching Whitney in the loft?

I do think Peter and Lola have quite a lot of chemistry. They have done well to convey that considering he's new.

Wondering where the Patrick/Isaac story is going?

Think DV storyline is getting set up to climax at Easter.

tobee · 13/03/2020 21:14

Sorry if this sounds rude but I don't give a shit where the Patrick/Isaac story is going.

mothtoaflame · 13/03/2020 21:16

Thought that was a great episode, very dark but really well acted. Can't believe I actually wanted Rainey to say yes.

Me either. Isaac is too new and too nasty for anyone to care about.

Mrhodgeymaheg · 13/03/2020 21:39

I do agree in a way. Isaac has quite a lot of attitude, total opposite to Patrick, so it's not particularly believable right now, but I expect he will do a personality u-turn a'la Stuart at some point.

They always introduce new characters by showing their worst side first, then soften them up over time.

I have binge watched two weeks worth !

They give a shed load of orange juice in Walford Prison.. Every meal (except the scrambled eggs'n'toast which had water ) huge tumbler of juice . My teeth are itchy just thinking about it .

How long till the Slaters are out on their ears . Suki will get her revenge ....

Irial · 13/03/2020 21:53

I agree re Isaac, he's not been around long enough for anyone to give a shit

I don't care that this Sheree has turned up, and randomly seems to be Patricks old squeeze, no, just really don't care

lets have more Sharon going quietly apeshit - and whats with the name? Kayden? really like she would let that happen

I found the Whitney scenes eerie and disturbing to be broken up only by a man beating up his wife. It was just an awful episode. I actually thought at one stage when she was hallucinating and trying to hug her younger self that the camera would zoom out and we’d see her being taken advantage of by the prison guard. That was the only thing that would have made it even worse.

Stewart looks deranged when he is happy. Raine’s ‘happy’ voice drives me crazy, she sounds like a child.

I presume Kieran will know straight away? After just getting her cast off her arm, she will have to say she was mugged I guess?

The one and only light line was Sonia saying you all know me, I’m not one for speeches’. She never shuts up!

tobee · 14/03/2020 03:46

Oh I forgot that bit with Gray in the pub. Probably deliberately coz it was just horrible! In every way.

Mrhodgeymaheg · 14/03/2020 07:35

EE is a shit place to be a woman. It's getting annoying. Mothers always lose their only son/grandson. The DV is always a woman as the victim (I guess you could count Mick in as a male victim, but I think Chantelle's story is much more darker) and a woman being habitually treated badly by a string of men, only to be stalked and assaulted by one and then blamed when she kills him in self defence. Then there is also a nod to what Kat went through too. I am all for showing people dealing with these situations and shining a light on issues, but it's very depressing to watch as a woman. I feel like we are all meant to feel like victims.

NoisyBrain · 14/03/2020 14:33

I'm waiting for Rainey to miraculously get pregnant (just my theory, not a spoiler!). Being told you can't have kids seems to be no barrier to conception in EE, if Sharon & Alfie are anything to go by Hmm

The scenes with Whitney were like a really creepy music video. Very trippy.

Mrsjayy · 14/03/2020 15:08

Ian Beale impregnated Laura after he had a vasectomy so... Raine getting pregnant should be easy enough get to it Stuart 😁

Mrsjayy · 14/03/2020 15:11

My Dd thinks the writers hate young women they are either abused or battered she hated fridays episodes.

Mrsjayy · 14/03/2020 15:11

Thursday sorry,

Mrhodgeymaheg · 14/03/2020 16:40

It's funny how the likes of Phil, who is a habitual arsehole, get away with everything. We don't even get to see the mental anguish of him playing a part in his son's death - he just slinks off to Portugal and gets a tan! There are quite a few aggressive men in EE who do some awful things but it all gets forgotten because they manage to show a soft side every now and then. I guess we will eventually see Gray get his comeuppance I suppose.

tobee · 14/03/2020 18:13

Trying to imagine what baby Stuart will look like! Confused

I always delighted to whip out my potato baby photo 😂😂. It works for Phil too. And probably Max. It is a versatile potato.

catinb0oots · 14/03/2020 20:04

Would whit really be that poorly after two days of not eating?

catinb0oots · 14/03/2020 20:04

Sorry just watching on catchup

catinb0oots · 14/03/2020 20:05

I reckon my thighs alone would keep me going for a month

yatapina · 14/03/2020 20:20

I think they said she was refusing to drink now too so I imagine the dehydration would kick in first.

I don't normally like Whitney but I did think the jail scenes were pretty hard hitting and well done. For the past few years she has been portrayed as a desperate, hard faced young woman, but I thought it reminded us that inside she's still that vulnerable little girl we first met many years ago.

tobee · 14/03/2020 21:03

Just wondering if they'll stop production of eastenders for a bit. Anyone heard anything? Or is that like asking about a spoiler? Grin
