Perhaps that English GCSE is more versatile than we thought).

🤣🤣🤣

The80sweregreat · 11/03/2020 18:02

That was funny about her versatile English GCSE!
English is so handy when your doing a blow dry
' is this a hairdryer I see before me?'
' to cut or not to cut that is the question'

Optimist1 · 11/03/2020 19:59

to cut or not to cut that is the question Grin Grin

Snotalot · 11/03/2020 20:14

Crikey, why are you arguing over fictional characters and a fictional story.

😂

Bioprepper · 11/03/2020 20:20

Denise is not a hairdresser but she did announce a few weeks ago she was going to train to be one. She maybe practicing but I don’t know who’s supervising her?

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 11/03/2020 20:24

Crikey, why are you arguing over fictional characters and a fictional story.

By that logic, why have soap threads at all? Confused

Anyway, they might be fictional characters but they’re portraying a very common real life scenario.

The80sweregreat · 11/03/2020 20:30

The actress that plays Lola isn't pregnant.
It's not real. She was kissing tall new head rather enthusiastically , but if I were 30
years younger then so would I ( if he fancied me , which he probably wouldn't have done)
He has a certain something.

Snotalot · 11/03/2020 20:32

Fair enough, just don't think it's worth arguing with a stranger over when it isn't real. It's usually more lighthearted on here.

SpanishFly · 11/03/2020 20:35

It was hardly arguing - it was a few different opinions.
About a storyline in Eastenders.
On an Eastenders chat thread.

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 11/03/2020 20:39

just don't think it's worth arguing with a stranger over when it isn't real.

The scenario is real and thats what we were discussing. We were using the characters names because they are the ones portraying the roles we were discussing.

The80sweregreat · 11/03/2020 20:41

I love our thread. It's good we think of the soap characters as real.
We're a nice bunch normally! :)
It was good that Lola took action and didn't say yes to babies and jay if this isn't what she wanted. It was empowering really and I do like Jay. It is unusual as usually they all get to the register office then dump them!
Made a change I guess.

theschoolonthehill · 11/03/2020 20:43

Patrick's wife has gone too ( didn't she go off when her son appeared

No Denise contacted her and told her Patrick was heartbroken and Patrick welcomed her back. Then there was a bit of a story about Patrick being his Dad that Patty is dying to announce but his wife (I cannot think of her name, she obviously hasn't made any impression on me) said he was not allowed to tell the son.

Unless the wife went away again after that and I missed it?

The80sweregreat · 11/03/2020 20:53

Oh yes, Wife n son were on the ' boat of doom'
! How easily I forget.

theschoolonthehill · 11/03/2020 21:00

When Stewart and Rainey were sitting down at their meal last night, one of them said something that I found hilarious, I burst out laughing when one of them said it. I made a mental note to write about it but I've forgotten what it was now and I've deleted it so I can't rewatch.

Dieu · 11/03/2020 22:36

Lola, pregnant, pissed and snogging another man. Classy. Hmm

tobee · 12/03/2020 00:22

Sheree is Patrick's wife. I had to google it. It's a suitable name z

With regards to Gray and his suspension and no money. Is he not a barrister and therefore gets fees for work and is self employed? Presumably retained by chambers and gets work but I don't know about other money. Need to check with my friend who is a judge! Grin

theschoolonthehill · 12/03/2020 00:29

They all referred to him as a ‘lawyer’. I don’t remember them saying barrister and they would 😀

tobee · 12/03/2020 03:46

Maybe they don't know the difference? But I thought he was going to represent Whit in court?

tobee · 12/03/2020 03:48

I thought solicitors could only represent in magistrates court? Can't remember for definite. Lawyer is a generic term isn't it? I dunno. Maybe he's the Sonia of the legal world and can do everything. Grin

Cary2012 · 12/03/2020 07:08

The hairdressing storyline is daft, they were desperate to have Chan there when it opened, as she was a 'top stylist' and then she's casually informed the day before she returns that she has no job. Her dad works there, she sees a lot of him day to day, all those lunches in the Vic for example, wouldn't this have been mentioned before?
Lola's hardly ever there, either with the awful Lexi, or in the bar, and Denise isn't a stylist (yet).
Feel a bit sorry for Jay, but they do seem to have set victims in EE: Whitney, Jay, Billy, Jean.
Jean not taking her meds signals a huge downward spiral for her.
Linda's on benzos for withdrawal, briefly mentioned a few episodes ago.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 12/03/2020 11:36

How long do we reckon before Gray is found out as an abusive husband? The storyline has been rolling for quite a while now? I guess he may turn out to be the hero (getting Whitney off her charge) so they may prolong it for another few months yet.

I like Jay. He is one of the decent ones in Eastenders despite his close associations with the Mitchell family.

lazymum99 · 12/03/2020 14:39

2 episodes tonight. None tomorrow coz of sport relief.

iknowimcoming · 12/03/2020 14:55

I wonder if jean not taking her meds will lead to Stacey's return?

The80sweregreat · 12/03/2020 15:33

Tobee, yes to Gray being a ' super lawyer'! They did go to him about everything.
I hope he gets Whitney off though even though I loath the man!!

Optimist1 · 12/03/2020 18:21

Not that I know anything about it IRL, surely even a very clever solicitor/barrister/super lawyer would be hard pushed to defend someone on trial for murder without all the back up that his firm would have provided (investigators, admin folks, secretarial staff)?
