I agree about Whitney she is always "a victim" give the poor girl a break .

tobee · 01/03/2020 15:09

Her hair falling out due to stress is upsetting.

EmeraldShamrock · 01/03/2020 15:50

She's been through enough I felt like that about Ronnie. What thanks did she get for the constant rollercoaster acting? Killed off. All the crying emotional scenes must rub off in their personal lives.

The80sweregreat · 01/03/2020 16:07

Yes to Ronnie : she had a rough ride more than Roxy did. Then they drowned them both.
I hope Whitney goes a bit mad and tells them all to do one ( if she gets out that is, with horrible Gray involved it doesn't look good , she could be in there for a long time)
No more men Whitney : bad news.

tobee · 01/03/2020 18:35

I remember reading an article with Little Mo and Trevor actors each talking about how close they felt to each other when filming the domestic abuse scenes because it was so emotionally draining for them. I bet Letitia Dean has been feeling it too!

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 01/03/2020 21:13

Very true @Emerald!

Sila123 · 01/03/2020 21:29

Bring back nick cotton and his son Ashley. If anything, EastEnders is turning into a horror programme, so bring them from the grave. Lol

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 02/03/2020 06:46

Is it wrong for me to like Ben as a character now? The actor who plays him now has done a very good job on revealing a much more nuanced and conflicted young man.

Cary2012 · 02/03/2020 06:52

If you're wrong Newmodel, then I am too! Ben's character is complex and the actor amazing.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 02/03/2020 06:55

@Cary2012, phew glad it's not just me.

SoupDragon · 02/03/2020 07:05

I don't like Ben at all. His changes of character are too unbelievable for me.

Eastie77 · 02/03/2020 14:11

Sharon and Shirley's scene almost had me in tears. I said down thread EE has lost its strong mother figures but Shirley has really stepped into that role these last few weeks.

Detective NuPeter's skills are truly amazing and completely implausible. I forgot Max was his son's grandfather until he confronted him in the Vic. Where do Lauren and Louie live nowadays?

I never have and never will like Ben. I don't feel sorry for him at all. He's a sociopath who only appears remotely pleasant when things are going exactly the way he way he wants them to. His parents are really crap though. Phil nowhere to be seen and Kathy's response to hearing her son has lost all his hearing was "I have a headache" and taking him round leftovers in a box for lunch. Agree the actor is good and an improvement on his predecessors.

tobee · 02/03/2020 17:51

I think Max Bowden does a very good with Ben considering the characters unpleasant aspects and the inconsistencies in the way it's written. Most of the characters have inconsistencies, or are changed unrecognisably for the current exec producers own ends: Stuart and Billy for example very different to how they were originally introduced. But Max Bowden is grappling with that very well imho.

Eastie77 · 02/03/2020 19:15

I was actually thinking that some of the poorer actors on EE are probably reasonably talented but are brought low by the silly storylines they have to act out

meow1989 · 02/03/2020 20:06

Ugh! The shakey camera work with the van is making me feel funny!

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 02/03/2020 20:10

I’m glad you said that meow I thought it was my eyesight playing up!

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 02/03/2020 20:10

Who is this creepy guy in green hoody?

meow1989 · 02/03/2020 20:18

Poor keegan 😔

NoisyBrain · 02/03/2020 20:20

Where on earth is Bex going to get the money to go travelling??

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 02/03/2020 20:23

Don’t kick off Keegan!!

meow1989 · 02/03/2020 20:29

I feel like this is making me check my white privilege. It's really hard to watch isnt it?

NoveltyFunsy · 02/03/2020 20:31

what happened on Friday? I think I missed it without noticing

The80sweregreat · 02/03/2020 20:54

Bex hasnt worked at all.
she said Aunt Michelle has given her some money but she'll need lots more for a year out travelling!
I won't miss her though : nice girl but very miserable and ruined by the writers.
I bet she reappears as a new head in a years time !

yatapina · 02/03/2020 21:21

I noticed the weird camera work too - not really sure what was going on there!

I quite like Max's portrayal but I much preferred the last Ben who had a sense of humour and was a much more light-hearted character. Every Ben has a completely different personality.

Has anyone else noticed that Lauren's relationship with Wilmott's son (what was his name again?) seems to have been forgotten? I thought she had buggered off with him and Louie after Abi's funeral but they're making it that her and Peter have just split.

Also wish they'd hurry up and get rid of Ash's Mum. Completely pointless family and it's blatantly obvious she hasn't ever had cancer so why are they dragging it out? It's not like they're big characters.

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 02/03/2020 21:34

Oh good point! You’re right. She did leave with him. So when did she get with peter? Also- is her son peters child or Stephens child?
