It was totally pointless the way they brought Alfie back. It served no purpose as he wasn’t staying. What was the point?

SoupDragon · 29/02/2020 17:50

The point of Alfie was so he could use his significant building experience to do a loft conversion.

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 29/02/2020 17:55
Grin

Ahh but if Alfie hadn’t come back they wouldn’t need a loft conversion as he, the 3 boys, Hayley and cherry wouldn’t have been there.

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 29/02/2020 17:56

But he did get them a new fireplace. Briefly.

SoupDragon · 29/02/2020 17:57

very true

tobee · 29/02/2020 18:26

I think that the actress was discovered by someone who put her in the film Fish Tank. So didn't set out to be an actress.

Also, I think that this job is new Peter actor's first?

SoupDragon · 29/02/2020 18:31

I thought Hayley was crap.

Jury is out on NuPeter but he seems OK.

NoisyBrain · 29/02/2020 19:16

The actress who played Hayley is apparently now working as a security guard at Home Bargains. One of the gutter press publications 'found' her recently. I think it came up on my Facebook feed for some reason (all-seeing Facebook probably knows I watch EE!)

I'm always amazed by a) how well people on EE can hear quiet conversations from several feet away in the pub/cafe and b) the almost psychic-level amateur detective work that goes on. Mel figured out the Sharon/Ken secret with minimal evidence even before the implausibly obtained confidential DNA results and NuPeter seems to have deduced Ian's guilt via some kind of dolphin-like echo location hearing skills!

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/02/2020 19:59

@Chienloup I also laughted at that

@SoupDragon great height 😂😂😂

The dustcart and opening bags of rubbish was funny

Karen has kayden. R.E.M. shazza said she could look after him for the afternoon

Why hasn’t sharon looked at her phone and found message from Denny

Yes, yes, yes, to Shirley and Sharon being great. Letitia Dean is amazing as a grieving mum.
I loved Hayley, thought she was proper East End, rough round the edges, vulnerable, sweet, all in one.

tobee · 29/02/2020 21:14

Before we knew Denny's fate, at some point during anniversary week people were speculating about the way Denny had left Sharon the message. What type of message was it? Something other than text?

southeastdweller · 29/02/2020 21:26

Letitia Dean has long been an unsung heroine of EE (taken for granted) and she's been superb this week - Sharon's grief feels so gut- wrenchingly real.

Cary2012 · 29/02/2020 21:29

tobee, it was a voice note apparently. Being an older person, I'm assuming it's a voice mail type thing.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/02/2020 21:42

Coz I’m sad

‘Mum I can’t get through to you - Ian’s lockie mw
In a room on a boat - I need help - I can’t get out’

A voice note is when you press record and the message is then sent as a text

Jay did it to Ben in same room as couldn’t hear him

Spoke in phone. And then Ben read it

So yes ian could say he Locked him in the room to sober up but he also went to rescue him and did get him out but then that huge wave came and knocked them out

So has it a delay? Does it rely on Denny's phone being found? I thought it would be saved by his network or something?

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/02/2020 22:13

I think he had no signal so didn’t send or else shaz would have got it ASAP

Tho obv in labour but sure once baby was born she would have looked at phone

OP posts:
TwoFeets · 29/02/2020 22:15

I thought it was just a voicemail?

Here was me questioning all week why Sharon hadn't picked up on it!

lazymum99 · 01/03/2020 11:02

If via what’s app he would have needed 4G for it to go. If via messaging he needs a phone signal or through iMessage if both iPhones.
If none of above were available (like when in tube tunnel) message would not have gone and is only on Denny’s phone which I presume was water logged.

The80sweregreat · 01/03/2020 12:52

Lazy mum. People said it would have got through to whoever he was phoning! How they know I'm not sure as Dennis's phone would be waterlogged but he sent it before the boat started filling with water. It's bound to have reached somebody! Unless Ian gets away with it until the inquest and they see a a big hole in the door of the locker room!
Or him admits it , which seems unlikely but he might do.
Not sure really ; might be better if she never discovers the truth to be honest.

EmeraldShamrock · 01/03/2020 12:53

Dottie has Ian's game, she will either blackmail him, once Sharon realises Denny was behind the fake Facebook account she'll work it out.
Her loud cry with Shirley was so sad.

The80sweregreat · 01/03/2020 12:56

I guess Ian is hoping the Denny messing with the Facebook account won't be discovered as well! No wonder he looks worried.

EmeraldShamrock · 01/03/2020 13:03

Beck's and Dottie will tell Peter first, the piece's will come together. Dare I say it but isn't Stuart settling in as a kind character.

The80sweregreat · 01/03/2020 13:38

Stuart has done a soap ' 360 degree turn' on the personality front! However, I think he could turn nasty again if pushed. He has' hidden depths'!
I like him but Rainie might ruin him.

EmeraldShamrock · 01/03/2020 14:26

Yes I agree. You can see his temperament lurking under, plus couple's ruin each other on EE.

The80sweregreat · 01/03/2020 14:33

I wish they had killed off someone else rather than Daniel.
If Whitney gets out of clink (or whatever becomes of her ) I really hope they give her a nicer storyline next time with a man that's not a sociopath or finds out his gay or is horrible to her or any of the men she's been out (with or nearly married ) before!
She's been through enough.
