Perhaps the reason we all like Daniel/Ade is that he is a good actor with talent. An attribute in short supply in EE.
Perhaps Ben 'hearing' Callum was supposed to hint at their soul-mates connection. True love overcomes all adversity!!

Susiesoap7 · 28/02/2020 11:13

Loved Daniel n Jean, pity they don't do episodes like that anymore, Sharon, best acting she's e ver done!
Baby should be called new gangster!!

The80sweregreat · 28/02/2020 11:31

Sharon is very believable as the grieving mum. I have a soft spot for our Sharon as I think she's had a hard life. Bless her.

tobee · 28/02/2020 13:52

The bit with Ian understanding was excellent. Although I think Sharon and Ian's mutual understanding is going to hit a massive set back !

The80sweregreat · 28/02/2020 14:19

Sharon will want Ian's blood when she finds out the truth!! No wonder he looks haggard.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/02/2020 14:51

Kayden ? Was that’s Karen’s name lol

Shazza wouidnt call him that Tho after kea and den

Still can’t beleive they killed Dennis / shaz has a lot to deal with

Peter obv finds home hard. His twin was killer there by his brother

Not sure I could foreigner my brother

Not sure as a parent/Ian I could forgive my child killing my other child

Sooooooo sad with Daniel

Tho I thoight her last husband was the love of her life. She was all happy till cane back to skaters as he hit her ? Was unfaithful ?

Ben can hear muffled noise - so when Callum shouted as was quiet he heard something which made him turn and spot medal on Ground

And look through plastic doors

Jay should have said found out missing friend. Been missing /injured a week With no food or water

And forgot to say. When Bobby was in hospital we had another room

Usually walk in door and bed on left and the time walked in door and bed on right

So on other side of corridor

I don't think Jean's previous husband (Olly) hit her? Didn't he say someone else's name or something? And she thought he was nice but boring? Anyway, they just twisted things about in an EE way because they wanted to have an excuse to bring back Jean but not Olly. Glad they did. They've done her cancer story well.

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 28/02/2020 14:59

I like to think Daniel was waiting to hear Jean had the all clear before leaving her.

tobee · 28/02/2020 15:04

Whoever said upthread that there have been too many stories going on this week is right. We haven't made enough progress on any of them and the tension has been lost. Especially as it was such a jigsaw last week.

By the way, that bear 🐻 cushion in Phil's house is a bit odd isn't it? Can't imagine any of them buying it! Is it meant to be symbolic of Phil?

Did anyone else worry that when Sharon was in Phil's he might come back? Although she wouldn't stand any nonsense from him right now!

tobee · 28/02/2020 15:06

Pointless to speculate really, but do you think Daniel said get the hot choc from the park because he knew he was about to die? Now I'm feeling upset all over again!

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 28/02/2020 15:12

I have a soft spot for Sharon too, feel like I’ve grown up with her and Ian! I am gutted though that now their friendship will be finished, they could never come back from that and I find that really sad, their bond was an important link to Eastenders past and I think the script writers have made a big mistake.

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 28/02/2020 15:12

I thought that tobee. I kind of thought it would have been nicer for jean to cuddle up to him on the bench, day her speech and for him to hear it but gradually fade away. Rather than him dying alone. I thought he would have wanted her with him. And she would have wanted to be with him too.

The80sweregreat · 28/02/2020 16:07

I have heard of people sending loved ones away so they can die alone. Very sad and I liked the character as he was funny and didn't take any nonsense.
Shame they killed him off and Sharon n Ian will never be the same again once she hears what happened that night. Which is also sad if that happens.
Been a few harrowing weeks.

tobee · 28/02/2020 16:47

I think Ade Edmondson was in Holby or Casualty? I caught a couple of bits of him in it and he was surprisingly good. I don't watch those programmes very often as too many scary ways to die! Also Nigel from EE of yore was a surgeon I believe.

Dh saw Ade in the recent tv version of War and Peace.

PeytonManning · 28/02/2020 17:00

I thought Daniel and Jean were brilliant last night. Made me cry but it was kind of uplifting too.

The80sweregreat · 28/02/2020 17:04

The matching hats did it fit me. She really did love Daniel Cook!

itsgettingweird · 28/02/2020 17:38

Daniel and jean was done so well.

I kept thinking "is he asleep" which I think you'd want the truth to be if you were jean - it pulled you in well.

NoisyBrain · 28/02/2020 19:27

That last Jean & Daniel scene was so sad last night Sad

It's amazing how many of the old faces of 'alternative comedy' from the 80s turned out to be decent actors.

Jojoanna · 28/02/2020 19:32

They kill a lot of ‘kids’ off in EE

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 28/02/2020 19:37

Ade Edmonson was very good in Bancroft as well.

The80sweregreat · 28/02/2020 19:40

Yes to 'alternative ' comedians being good actors. Proper acting training I suppose!
(I wanted to be an actress ; not meant to be sadly! 😂)

Cary2012 · 28/02/2020 20:09

Agree that Ade Edmonson is outstanding, yes he was great in Holby too. Jean actress is amazing and together they were great.
Both my nan and grandad died in hospital. And both slipped away in the few minutes that family left the room. DD is an ITU nurse, and she's seen it numerous times, family pop out for two mins and the patient passes away.
Ben and Callum, I think he sensed that Callum was close to show the closeness between them, like they have a special bond.
Ian and Sharon will grow closer, so the inevitable fallout will be more dramatic when it all horribly implodes. Glad they are focusing on the hearing loss, I teach two lovely lads with implants who are profoundly deaf and they are inspirational and they cope really well in a mainstream school
Can't work out Gray though, is he going to stitch Mick and Twitney up?
Enjoying it at the moment, lots happening.

The80sweregreat · 28/02/2020 20:21

Jean has always been good. Her scenes with Stacey and her battles with bi polar are legendary. She isn't everyone's cup of tea but she is an excellent actress and she seemed to bounce off Ade Edmondson very well. They all did.
I hope they keep her in it.

Figgygal · 28/02/2020 20:45

Just how tall is the new peter it’s distracting Grin

The80sweregreat · 28/02/2020 21:06

New peter knows his dad is not telling Sharon the truth! Oh dear!
He is ok but still looks bemused by it all.
Poor Sharon : where was the baby though?
