It's not really speculation about Rose Hanbury though is it? It's just that the British press aren't allowed to report on the affair. Lots of the Norfolk set knew about it ages ago.

I think she’s lovely. I hope she’s ok. I often wonder if she manages the pressure and scrutiny she is under by exercising to release frustrations and anxieties she may not be in a position to verbalise,as she always seems very fit and strong rather than frail. And in a world where everything around you is controlled by other forces (security, demands of the role, pressure from the media, the constant horror over what some horrible people would like to do to your children) I suppose the one thing you can control is what you do with your own body, whether it’s the amount of food you eat or the energy you burn up through exercising.

I think she's just happy at that size. It's not indicative of anything alarming or 'wrong' with her. As I mentioned up thread I had a bmi of 19 before I had my recent baby. It is now about 22 and whilst that's healthy and lots of people would be happy with that, I am not really. I'm used to being slimmer and am happier at a lower weight, I just prefer the way it looks and feels to me. I've had three kids and lost the weight each time to return to where I am comfortable - just like Kate has. She's not abnormal.

Whether it looks 'better' or 'worse' by other people's definition is a bit irrelevant, Kate clearly prefers to be slimmer (or she wouldn't be).

I now, 2 children later, weigh 8st. I am struggling to put weight on even though I want to.

I didn't think she looked good at all yesterday. Her body has no shape whatsoever, just straight up and down.

I think she looks a lot older than she is and has done for a good few years. She often looks quite haggard. I noticed it more once Meghan joined the family. Meghan looks quite a bit younger than Kate and much fresher faced

Urgh hate people saying she looks older than she is. No she doesn’t. What’s wrong with looking your age and not botoxing your face!

She totally does Botox but you can’t undo all the damage caused by sun exposure (all the Midds seem to like tanning) and extreme dieting. Possibly smoking too, it’s a great appetite suppressant. All these things cause premature ageing

just compare photos of her young and her now. She is at least 2 sizes smaller. On someone who has never been remotely big, that's a lot.

People don't have to be one extreme or the other. Not being "super skinny" doesn't mean you are fat

This isn't directed at you personally op, but speaking in general, its threads and scrutiny like this which are probably the reason why she is so thin. Some of the newspaper shots nowadays are hugely intrusive, close ups of wonky toes or wind-blown hair or the slightest tummy bulge, any sort of wardrobe malfunction, however minor, like a falling hem, or a creased skirt. God forbid if you trip over or faint or vomit.

Imagine what it must be like to be under public scrutiny every time you step out of the door. Imagine not being able to rely on anyone's discretion or kindness. Imagine not being able to make new friends because you can't trust anyone. Or photographers going through your bins. And having to be unfailingly kind and polite and well dressed wherever you go, even if it's just for a routine appt. Never being able to be "just comfortable". It must be hellish. And a huge challenge in terms of one's own mental health and keeping a balanced perspective, especially when your DC and marriage are subjected to the same scrutiny.

Perhaps it would be bearable if the "upper management" were supportive and had your back, but by the look of it, the different factions within the RF are riddled by competitiveness and their own insecurities.

And yet , despite all these pressures, KM does such a good job , puts her best foot forward and still gets criticised.

Even if people are genuinely concerned about her weight, how does banging on about it on a forum help? It's the same as those crass people who see a blushing child and say "ooh, you've gone all red" . It's hardly likely to help the situation is it?

She is too thin and would so much younger with some weight on her. I think she smokes too which doesnt help the skin but she does look a lot older than her years.

Kate has always been really slim - even when she's pregnant she's slim with a small bump. She's tall too, which I think makes her look even thinner. I think she looks great and is a wonderful member of the RF. I'm not much of a royalist, but she came from a middle class background (upper MC yes, top public school and all), and has fitted into the RF without putting a foot wrong. The endless media scrutiny, being mum to three small DC, all the kerfuffle about Andrew, then Harry and Meghan, and William's increasingly important role as the Queen scales back her duties must all be putting a lot of strain on her and yet she always looks great, has a smile on her face, and I think has done a lot behind the scenes to try to help William and Charles' relationship and heal things with Harry. I think she's great.

i saw a pic of her sister the other day and she is very thin too. so might just be genes.
makes me lol people being sorry for the pressure she is under. she married a future King, lives in luxury and occasionally works. hardly up there withe normal folk.
