So DT could be the one to impregnate her, not her policeman DH.

Bunnybigears · 11/01/2020 14:57

The injections are definitely IVF. They are trying to conceive. It was mumbled at the ceilidh. This is the problem. The whole episode was mumbled

Ah this is where having to use subtitles comes in handy.

mamaduckbone · 11/01/2020 15:02

I quite enjoyed it although it's a bit formulaic (and as a pp suggested, I don't think the community where everyone lives and works within a stones throw does exist any more)

My main problem with the plot so far is why would the teacher have an affair with craggy old DT in his woolly yellow jumper over the dishy policeman?WinkConfused

Polkadotdelight · 11/01/2020 16:31

The actress who play the little girl has cerebral palsy IRL and has a Facebook page called Lilacs Little legs. I took it to be cerebral palsy in the TV show also.

Wineislifex · 11/01/2020 16:43

I’ve just watched it I thought it was good, some funny basic errors tho..chest compressions, policeman investigating his friends! Interesting to see how it turns out, obviously it’s guna be one those dramas with a huge backstory shown in flashbacks

Doingtheboxerbeat · 11/01/2020 17:29

I thought it was OK and not the slightest bit confusing and this is coming from someone who is easily confused. I thought the guy doing the autopsy was Asian Blush, so I didn't mistake him for David Tennant but I'm obviously wrong.
I have no children but 3 young neices and cried my eyes out at the teacher explaining things to the class.

CassandrasCastle · 11/01/2020 17:38

@Doingtheboxerbeat I am also usually v easily confused, but wasn't by this!

(Although I was clearly confused about when the show actually started, sooo...🙈)

Totally bewildered.

Right at the very beginning, after the car crash, what were those things crawling on the road?

Squigean · 11/01/2020 18:06

Crabs.

pollyhampton · 11/01/2020 18:09

Crabs. From the beach I assume.

I enjoyed it and followed it ok. Seems I'm the only one Grin

PuppyMonkey · 11/01/2020 18:10

I can’t even recall what the guy doing the autopsy looked like tbh, has anyone got a pic of him?

BoreOfWhabylon · 11/01/2020 18:13

Ah! Thanks.

I thought it might be indicating some sort of extraterrestrial involvement Confused

Crabs, I think. Makes perfect sense Hmm.

beanaseireann · 11/01/2020 20:04

Thank you flouncyfanny

Frankiestein402 · 11/01/2020 20:18

Not sure you can expect realistic chest compressions against a healthy body, too risky - usually camera angles stop you seeing movement and chest at the same time - difficult with wider angle shots?
Though lack of mouth to mouth was anomalous :)

Faircastle · 11/01/2020 20:29

This is what I picked up so far:

Tom (GP) and Kate (teacher) had 3 daughters: Emily, Iris and Charlotte. One of them used a wheelchair.

Kate's colleague and friend is Jess. Jess and her partner Steve (police officer) are going through IVF. He has two sons from a previous relationship.

Kate did not get on with Carol (Tom's mum).

The headteacher is called Simon.

Tom and Jess had sex on at least one occasion.

peanutfoldover · 11/01/2020 21:13

I think we are being lead to believe Kate is guilty of drugging the family, putting locks on the doors and setting fire to the house because she’s had PND Hmm

Which is why I am now utterly convinced Tom did it. Being a GP he could ensure he didn’t give himself a fatal dose of whatever drug he injected. (Although he must have messed up somehow as was unconscious when found).

My husband (who can work out an entire plot after 30 seconds of viewing) said if he wanted to set me up in the same scenario he would just ask me to pop to B&B and buy a shed padlock for the garden shed.

I’m slightly suspicious of the male teacher knowing something, but not sure if he’s guilty of anything.

BorneoBabe · 11/01/2020 21:24

I understood everything except the car crash. So they were in a car crash before the fire? Could it be a previous attempt on their lives?

Piggywaspushed · 11/01/2020 21:30

Well, I knew all of that but I had not picked up the head was called Simon. This could be CRUCIAL information. Thank you. Grin

peanutfoldover · 11/01/2020 21:41

The car crash happened after the trip to the beach. I assumed it was due to her turning around, but an attempt on their life is a good thought! Which means KATE is the victim/target as Tom wasn’t in the car.

She was on the phone to someone on the beach. Do you think it was Simon? Maybe he knew about that affair?

Londonborncatty · 11/01/2020 22:00

I wonder if the Headteacher, Simon, was having an affair, or loved Kate (the deceased teacher) from afar and felt she would not have left him and that’s why he is convinced that Tom (the Dr husband) did it.
