Has anyone watched this?

I genuinely did not notice the disabled child! And I am normally really observant. It makes sense, though.
It wasn't that noticable to be honest, quite briefly shown. When they were walking back from the céilí the other daughter was pushing a wheelchair.

Inappropriatefemale · 11/01/2020 10:57

I’m totally confused and this thread has confused me more...maybe it will become clearer as time goes on, there are 4 episodes to it.

AnyFucker · 11/01/2020 10:59

.

RedRec · 11/01/2020 11:10

Found it confusing and could not keep track with who was who. Especially the older woman who was someone's mum - didn't get why the other woman was so angry with her before flouncing off the beach.
Having said that, I am always tired at that time on a Friday night, and it looked good so I will be watching it again on catch up.

Gemma2019 · 11/01/2020 11:16

I watched it but I found it really slow and confusing. I'd been looking forward to watching but not sure I can sit through another three episodes. It feels like I need to revise yesterday's episode first!

TARSCOUT · 11/01/2020 11:17

Wheres Dunlop?

Gogolego · 11/01/2020 11:19

I really liked it. But it's not the sort of thing I want to watch on a Friday evening.

I'm also getting a bit confused who's who. Especially with the relationship between the policeman, his ex and the headteacher

Piggywaspushed · 11/01/2020 11:20

Dunlop is one of the filming locations for the programme.

Piggywaspushed · 11/01/2020 11:22

Friday evening is an unusual choice which suggests they aren't sure about it at C4. It's the Gogglebox slot!

Inappropriatefemale · 11/01/2020 11:27

Yeah I thought the same about Fridays, very unusual.

BonnesVacances · 11/01/2020 12:00

I enjoyed having a drama in this slot. C4 have often been ahead of the curve so maybe it's the new Sunday evening.

CassandrasCastle · 11/01/2020 12:09

I've just finished watching it in bed, because I'm a pregnant lazy oaf. I quite enjoyed - if that's the right word Confused
Although that barn celidh was intensely cringe.

I need to watch it again because I’m confused.

I do know that the woman that got told to fuck off on the beach was DTs mum, she and the wife didn’t get on I don’t think.

Also the padlock was stolen I believe.

NeutralJanet · 11/01/2020 12:29

What was the thing that the policeman's partner kept injecting into her abdomen? IVF drugs?

Pomegranatemolasses · 11/01/2020 12:31

I really enjoyed it, but had completely missed the fact that one of the children was in a wheelchair! So presumably was badly injured in the crash, hence the mum feeling guilt/depression.

So glad I read this thread now!

ThomasShelbysBunnet · 11/01/2020 13:09

I agree, there was a big thing made about the injections. I thought insulin? Maybe she's to be implicated in the injections of the family who died?? They could have had an insulin overdose rendering them unconscious?

Doubt IVF drugs if shagging the doctor

Omgyouguyssss · 11/01/2020 13:12

Hmm I’m going to possibly incorrectly say not insulin. Insulin you measure out how much you need, you don’t just nip to the fridge get one and go for it.

Plus the fact her OH did it at one point. AND does no one remember the conversation where the now dead woman said ‘I’ve got a good feeling about this time’ or words to that effect? I’m definitely going for IVF.

The DT shag could have been a one off? Still enough to cause lots of damage to relationships.

Bunnybigears · 11/01/2020 13:17

I thought someone mentioned ivf at some point? At least I was 100% convinced it was ivf drugs she was injecting.

Omgyouguyssss · 11/01/2020 13:18

Same, I just assumed that till I read on here about insulin.

ThomasShelbysBunnet · 11/01/2020 13:19

Thanks for correcting re insulin, I've never had any experience of it.
The injection marks were strange I think, double punctured?

FlamingOranges · 11/01/2020 13:37

I don't think the daughters wheelchair use was linked with the car crash - in the scenes getting too and from the beach (pre-crash) she was always carried, people were holding child sized walking sticks/aids, and the whole song and dance about her falling and why wasn't anyone with her - there was also comment about Charlotte's birth being difficult leading to the depression - my assumptions was cerebral palsy?

FlamingOranges · 11/01/2020 13:38

Or maybe Spina Bifida I suppose?

Pomegranatemolasses · 11/01/2020 14:19

Oh ok, that makes more sense.

I also read somewhere that it is IVF she's undergoing.

Piggywaspushed · 11/01/2020 14:22

The injections are definitely IVF. They are trying to conceive. It was mumbled at the ceilidh. This is the problem. The whole episode was mumbled.

Apart from the deceased wife. She was quite clear when she told her MIL to fuck off!

Squigean · 11/01/2020 14:31

Definitely IVF. She mentioned 'embryos waiting' (reason for refusing wine) when she was talking to doctor's wife at the céilí.
