Has anyone watched this?

Just watching again without wine.

DT said 'she'd closed their eyes, and tucked them up with their teddy bears. They were already dead'. As a previous poster said, why did he not raise the alarm? Perhaps he killed her in a fit of rage then tried to milk himself too? Perhaps she killed the kids and he killed her? Perhaps it is not just one person? Of course it could all be a big fat lie.

Why did the police not ask what happened next? Or maybe we will be shown that later.

CheekyFucker · 18/01/2020 13:14

Kill himself. Not milk himself. Clearly I cannot get the DT image porn out of my head.

CheekyFucker · 18/01/2020 13:17

And he didn't want to see the girls. Surely he would want to see them to accept they were dead. I would want to. Not just take someone else's word for it.

Piggywaspushed · 18/01/2020 13:25

I assume he said they were already dead because the post mortem had revealed this. His voice cracked when he said it.

ktel1 · 18/01/2020 13:29

This is about what he did in the moment .

He went upstairs - after that we don't know what happened we didn't get any details.

We don't even know the cause of death.

The police probably have the toxicology and post mortem results but we don't

hazandduck · 18/01/2020 13:39

I found the funeral scene really frustrating. How could anyone there be that composed?? If at a triple child burial surely you would have absolute hysterical crying from all the villagers who seemed so close? The grandparents as well. Why was nobody absolutely beside themselves?

Erm I too found the DT porn, my personal faves were the ones with John Barrowman 😂

hazandduck · 18/01/2020 13:40

I took the “they were already dead” comment to mean their fates were sealed but maybe I misread that.

ktel1 · 18/01/2020 14:00

So perhaps he meant that he didn't know that they were dead at the time they just looked to be asleep?

So if that's his story then presumably he'll say that the 2 of them go to bed and at some point she injects him and then herself.

Who started the fire who knows

What's in the injections unknown

Why did Kate call the mother in law?

Actually do we know it was Kate who made the call? I don't remember now.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 18/01/2020 14:01

In some of these thrillers, you only have to blink at the wrong moment to miss something significant

Yeah but not this one, I can guarantee it,my God,it couldn't be easier to follow. It's ITV FFS,they spell everything out Grin

CheekyFucker · 18/01/2020 14:01

It was the fact that he said 'she closed their eyes'. That is something you often have do do when someone has passed away. How would he have known she did that? Unless he did it himself.

If anyone can get three young kids to bed and sleep within 15 minutes then I would love to know their secret. Surely he would have kissed them goodnight, or smelled a rat.

Angryfan123 · 18/01/2020 14:03

He’s a GP is he not so would know that she’d have had to do that possibly?

ktel1 · 18/01/2020 14:10

CheekyFucker

I'm going to rewatch that part again.

The first time I watched it I though he knew that they were dead at that time.

However now I'm wondering if what he said to the detective is based on what he now knows to be true.

At the time perhaps he thought they were just asleep so didn't take any action.

When he said "she had closed their eyes" this could be his way of explaining that he didn't know that anything was wrong at the time.

ktel1 · 18/01/2020 14:13

Everyone seems rather tolerant of Dylan's behaviour .
You'd think that with his father being a GP that he's do more to address his obvious substance abuse problems.

CheekyFucker · 18/01/2020 14:14

Odd place for the wee boy to get a burn, on the crook of his elbow. She was certainly putting the plaster there. Same place as the injections.

ktel1 · 18/01/2020 14:15

CheekyFucker good point

So many references to injections in this

CheekyFucker · 18/01/2020 14:29

The court case for the car crash - drink driving - had been and gone as they said 'she was fine on the day' (Tom) 'You wouldn't have known' Jess. She got a fine and a year's ban. No case would go to court that quick surely.

ktel1 · 18/01/2020 14:42

I thought the court case was in the future

Angryfan123 · 18/01/2020 14:43

It had been

CheekyFucker · 18/01/2020 14:43

Jess avoided alcohol at the barn dance due to impending plantation of embryos, yet has a glass of wine on the night they are transferred. I guess that was for Dutch courage to tell Steve about her having shagged Tom.

Piggywaspushed · 18/01/2020 14:45

Ermmm.... It's not ITV.

Piggywaspushed · 18/01/2020 14:46

The she was fine on the day and you wouldn't have known comments were obviously about the day of the driving offence, not the court case.

CheekyFucker · 18/01/2020 14:51

@Piggywaspushed then how would they have known it was a fine and a years ban. They were talking about her mental state with the impending court case and they then said she was fine on the day. She wasn't fine before she got in the car, so I don't think she would have been fine having the kids checked and breath tested afterwards.

Piggywaspushed · 18/01/2020 14:54

Hmmm... true.

Omgyouguyssss · 18/01/2020 14:54

It obviously wasn’t Piggywaspushed.

There’s been more than a couple of things posters on here have disagreed on but people still keep coming on and saying it’s not confusing to try and make themselves look clever.

CheekyFucker · 18/01/2020 14:59

@Omgyouguyssss I guess with MN there will always be an element of goading.

It is good to have a discussion. It just goes to show how people can see the same thing, but remember different details. I find it quite fascinating.
