The two youngsters had a maturity beyond their years.

The Latin dancers were a bit out of sync. Why didn’t the young lad start with the rest?

Didn’t see the first duo - cooking food.

Another one irritated by the lack of counter. We had no idea how each act was doing I the audience vote.....which is the whole point! Bring back the counter!

Watched this with DS, we loved the last series so we're really excited.

Like Curtis as receptionist. Love Todrick, but think him and Mathew might clash during the live shows.

The clown act really freaked me out but WOW what a dancer. Absolutely loved the kid couple, so glad they got chosen!

Loved the clown dancer - he reminded me a lot of Harry from last year (still bitter that he and Eleiyah didn't win!). And the clown's name is Harrison...

I also missed the counter showing how close to 75% each act was getting.

As a whole I was underwhelmed by the acts. The ones who got the mirrors to open were good, but nothing great imo (except for Harrision).

it took us till halfway through to see that you have to look at the audience shots with the lights to see how well people are doing. Maybe I was in a bad mood but thought most were poorer than last year (disclaimer I was thrown out of ballet class at age 5 for total lack of coordination so have absolutely no idea what I am talking about in terms of dance quality). The clown chap at the end was OK & the northern soul guy made me smile but probably just because it was happy music.

Just caught up, thought Harrison dressed as the clown was amazing. The 2 Cheryl picked were fab aswell had a lump in my throat watching them. Not a big fan of street dance so none really stood out to me. Liked the 2 Irish dancers aswell. First time I've watched this so do all the ones left that weren't picked at the end automatically go home?

I agree that the winner last year wasn’t my top dancer. Good, but others had the edge on her.

@riverside277 last year, after the 4th show, all of the dance captains got to pick the acts they wanted to mentor for the live shows, from all of the ones who got the mirror to open up. last year there were 3 captains (no Todrick), and they each picked 3 acts. any acts that didn't get picked had to go home. this 1 vote for an act to go immediately to final show is new this year.

@riverside277 now that you mentioned it, I looked up Harry's insta page and guess what? There is a photo of him dressed as IT the clown 🤡.

Was thinking after last night show, that Curtis would make a good presenter on Strictly, or It Takes Two. He definantly had the ability to chat to the contestants yesterday, plus he has the knowhow.

So are we saying that Harry from last year, is Harrison the clown?

@xsquared @Loveislandaddict Harry definitely could be the one taking the picture (but why would he even be with the guy in the IT costume lol?). I would think that once a contestant appears, they can't appear again?? Unless it just means that you can't compete as the same act. But still wouldn't seem fair, as that rule would favour duos and groups. Clearly I'm overthinking this haha.

To give her credit, both Harry and Harrison are superb.

Thanks for the detective work, @Loveislandaddict! I didn't really think they were the same person - how could they allow any contestant back? - but I'm still amazed how similar their style is.

@Loveislandaddict both Harry and Harrison are fine dancers and I see that Harry has appeared on TV before the Greatest Dancer.
I would have chosen Harry and Eileyah last year as the champions rather than Ellie. They were mesmerising to watch.

I love this programme, but (as with all of these things) I prefer the mix of people in the heats than in the final rounds.

Also fuming about the counter not showing on screen - seems bonkers that a show where the people are chosen to progress by the audience, yet we only find out how many votes they get if they fail to get through.

I think the judges getting the chance to put one act straight through was probably a condition made by them, since they were all very vocal that the audience let a few acts fall through the net purely because they didnt really "get" the style of the dance etc
