Anyone watching?

The two youngsters had a maturity beyond their years.

The Latin dancers were a bit out of sync. Why didn’t the young lad start with the rest?

Didn’t see the first duo - cooking food.

OP posts:

Ooh, I liked Vale much more

TheReluctantCountess · 08/02/2020 19:45

Vale are amazing! So synchronised.

iklboo · 08/02/2020 19:45

That was very good.

MissSueFlay · 08/02/2020 19:50

Michael and Jowita have it for me. Already. They are just so so good - I just love their ballroom, and I do get a bit tired of seeing the gymnastics-style contemporary dances.

Definitely agree with a PP, same as last year, the backdrops can be really distracting, they make it hard to see the dancers. One of the nicest things last week was Michal and Jowita's really plain staging.

TheReluctantCountess · 08/02/2020 19:52

Aw Lily and Joseph are so sweet! I shed a tear every week.

Standrewsschool · 08/02/2020 19:53

Wasn’t so keen on Vales performance tonight. Parts of it was similar to last weeks Queue dance.

Really liked Lily and Joseph’s dance - much preferred it to last week. More dancing and no running about.

jay55 · 08/02/2020 19:55

I'm a watching behind. Michael and Jowita stunning again. Whether they win or not, no doubt they will get work on some of the many dance tours the strictly pros are doing, if not strictly itself.

Standrewsschool · 08/02/2020 20:00

Didn’t like Ainsleys dance at all. Not much dancing. Very jerky movements. Loved the song choice though.

64sNewName · 08/02/2020 20:00

Yeah, I really would like to see more of Michael and Jowita after this ends.

These words appearing on the backdrop while Ainsley dances are super annoying.

TheReluctantCountess · 08/02/2020 20:03

I like Ainsley’s performance. It encapsulated such a strong feeling. Very moving.

64sNewName · 08/02/2020 20:03

Cheryl’s tears setting me off. Seeing someone else cry always does. I wasn’t even that moved by the dance!

Thought she was being a bit harsh earlier telling Joseph not to cry but actually maybe she was referring to herself as well

TheReluctantCountess · 08/02/2020 20:08

These two were great! So much energy.

64sNewName · 08/02/2020 20:09

Completely agree with Cheryl actually about the constantly changing tracks

(I think a PP here already said the same thing earlier in this thread)

Standrewsschool · 08/02/2020 20:12

I thought the same thing about the changing tracks. However, thought it was a much better performance than last week. Actually, most routines are stronger than lastvweek.

Standrewsschool · 08/02/2020 20:23

Didn’t like Hannah’s performance. Looked like a gymnastic floor routine, rather than a dance. Didn’t feel there was much of a dance content.

64sNewName · 08/02/2020 20:31

Aww, I really enjoyed Dance Point.

64sNewName · 08/02/2020 20:32

Although I’m watching on an ancient iPad and they moved so fast that it went all pixelly

MissSueFlay · 08/02/2020 20:36

Our votes went to Michael & Jowita, Lily & Joseph and Dancepoint

cordelia16 · 08/02/2020 20:55

Predicted that result, as well.

Shame the dance captains and hosts waste so much time chatting and then one of the acts voted off doesn't have time to say anything.

64sNewName · 08/02/2020 20:56

I voted M&J, Vale and Dancepoint.

Surprised but not really that sorry to see Ross and Travis go.

Standrewsschool · 08/02/2020 20:57

Not surprised by that result either.

MissSueFlay · 08/02/2020 21:11

Cheryl gave it away a bit - just a couple of hours on a Thursday with their acts. Shame we don't get to see them working with the choreographers for the other 95% of the time!

GuiltyPleasure · 08/02/2020 21:44

Haven't watched tonight yet, but Brothers of Dance we're rehearsing at DD's dance college earlier this week (Dane Bates is an alumni). Cheryl was there for a couple of hours (tbf posed for lots of selfies with DD & friends & was reportedly lovely). Ross from Ross & Travis is a student at the same dance college. The dance world is very small 😀

iklboo · 08/02/2020 23:24

Who went? We had a power cut!

xsquared · 08/02/2020 23:37

I enjoyed tonight's show much better than last week's.

I also thought the ballerina was distracting during Harrison's performance and I didn't think there was a great deal of content in his routine.

Enjoyed Michael and Jowita, Dance Point and Hannah the best and I disagree with the poster about her routine being more like gymnastics. I thought it was more balletic which isn't surprising given she is a ballerina. Cheryl is spot on about them being good enough to be on Strictly and I wouldn't be surprised if they were offered contracts as backing dancers, or even pros, in the future.
