Anyone watching?

The two youngsters had a maturity beyond their years.

The Latin dancers were a bit out of sync. Why didn’t the young lad start with the rest?

Didn’t see the first duo - cooking food.

No surprise that Ryan and the Queens were voted off because they were the 2 weakest performances.

Oblomov20 · 01/02/2020 22:29

Brothers of dance was put together only recently/not that long ago, by choreographer dane bates.

And he put together last years Cheryl group.

But not by the producers à la X Factor though?

Noodlenosefraggle · 02/02/2020 11:57

Felt a bit sorry for The Queens. The camera work was all over the place and you couldn't really see their performance as a whole.
I thought the camera angles were odd too, but the audience gave them a really low mark and they were watching it live.

pinksoda35 · 02/02/2020 12:16

The right two went.. I am not a fan of Lily and Joseph( that's it I am going to hell) all they really seem to do is grin and kick their legs up!!

Enjoyed Micheal and Jowita, BOD and Vale-I actually got a bit teary watching their performance it was beautiful.

iklboo · 02/02/2020 12:25

I'm with you pinksoda. They're cute and all and no doubt talented but I just don't do cutsie poppets in talent shows with adults. They tend to get the 'awwwww' vote. We should have a Greatest Dancer junior version maybe.

LIZS · 02/02/2020 12:39

Yes L and J are saccharine sweet but not dissimilar to many kids at stage and dance schools up and down the country. Also lacked synchronicity last night.

cordelia16 · 02/02/2020 13:03

I thought the Queens' performance was a bit too frantic. Miss their slick, controlled style from the auditions. And the music didn't really match their theme. Which ironically is something Cheryl complained about for other acts.

Agree about Lily & Joseph - don't like cutesie stuff.

I loved Ross & Travis in the auditions, but didn't like their routine at all last night. It felt all over the place and a bit too jokey. Nothing out of the ordinary imo and don't think it deserved the second highest score of the night.

I liked Vale (though unflattering costumes) - was mesmerized by the whole routine. Also liked Ainsley and BOD.

xsquared · 02/02/2020 13:46

I thought Michael and Jowita were very elegant and graceful. I hope they go far but if they don't win, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up being pros on Strictly, like AJ and Chloe after BGT.

Not keen on Lily and Joseph either. Maybe it's because I think they need a few more years to develop their dancing and poise.

Ross and Travis were all over the place and some of the moves didn't seem quite clean to me.

I was looking forward to Harrison, but his performance last night was not as powerful as his audition.

Hannah was beautiful.

Brothers of Dance were very well synchronised and really in character. They deserved that high score.

Noodlenosefraggle · 02/02/2020 15:21

Agree that there shouldn't be kids competing against adults. Good for their age and cute shouldn't be enough. They should be up against other kids their age otherwise it's not a fair contest. Kid ballroom dancers dont have the experience to do anything outside what they and hundreds of other kids have been taught and it's very easy to drift into inappropriate.

Standrewsschool · 02/02/2020 18:02

I agree with the cutie factor. Maybe 16 and over in the adult contest, and a junior version.

LIZS · 02/02/2020 18:25

Didn't Alesha have a dance competition show for kids on cbbc a few years back.

LIZS · 02/02/2020 18:30

Streetdance Stars 2011/12 followed by Jump Nation (competitive skipping!).

Figgygal · 02/02/2020 19:17

Right outcome last night
Also not a lily and Joseph fan

Thank god matthews tache has gone it was frightful

iklboo · 02/02/2020 19:29

Thank god matthews tache has gone it was frightful

It was for his role in American Horror Story 1984. Pair that tache with 80s satin short short footballer shorts and a vest. Eewww. Grin

I liked Lilly and Joseph and I thought they synchronised really well.

Harrison's clown dance audition was better than his latest performance. If he gets the right theme, he'll be unstoppable.

The right people left.

Bring out the big onions!

TheReluctantCountess · 08/02/2020 19:27

Brothers are fab!

64sNewName · 08/02/2020 19:28

Not loving this despite the obvious talent so far tonight ... I thought the first two acts’ sets and lighting were really distracting - or maybe it’s the camerawork? Somehow it’s been hard to watch the actual dance.

TheReluctantCountess · 08/02/2020 19:32

I love Oti’s hair tonight.

64sNewName · 08/02/2020 19:35

I’m also hating every song choice. Very possibly the problem is just that I’m a grump/in the wrong mood Grin

Standrewsschool · 08/02/2020 19:38

Loved the ballroom couple. It was so good. Surprised by the negative comments.

Thought Brothers of Dance and Harrison were both strong performances.

TheReluctantCountess · 08/02/2020 19:39

I didn’t like Harrison’s performance to be honest - the ballerina was distracting.

iklboo · 08/02/2020 19:41

There's something about Harrison I really like. He does act his performances which is a bonus over some acts I've seen and he seems a genuinely nice lad.
