@The80sweregreat I agree.

She was trying to say that the body language didn’t gauge that reaction

And the policeman taking the notes said stick to the the facts

Now that cctv footage of the 'attack ' at the bus stop in episode one has been redacted, it's made it all so much harder for them to justify continuing with the enquires, even though they are. Wouldn't the cctv centre have a copy of it , or do they erase it all after so many days?
In real life they may have just put Hannah on the missing persons list and dropped it, but I don't think it's coincidence that the female lead is ex SO15 , so this all could be a test?
I bet I'll be all confused by episode three again!

I don't think they would 80s - surely even Fasttrack would be sacked for going against Mi5 nevermind the two doing surveillance behind her back

Also far fetched that they wouldn't have 6 equally pressing crimes they'd been diverted to. As if they are just twirling thumbs if they can't follow Emery

editing/creating footage in real-time, unless there’s a major lag involved

There was some time when the cab was in a blind spot. I don't know the area but theoretically it could have been possible to arrive at the house, block the cctv footage and hold it til later to broadcast when he'd left or whatever. I don't think he is in that house.

Soup, fastrack detective ( what is her name in this? ) mentioned that SO15 ' safe houses' didn't look like the one on the cctv. She knows where they are located, so , I guess, they will go to one of those to try and track Shaun down?

Detective's name is Rachel Carey - but as they keep calling her Carey, I keep forgetting she's got another first name.

It is problematic that Shaun is the only character name I've retained and even then I had to think. You really should remember if it's a good show

I rewatched first episode. I think the case Fastrack was instrumental in and talked about at the beginning - called Sycamore I think - is also significant. The people convicted were apparently Isis and got huge sentences. There was CCTV footage which was crucial. When we saw the clip, it showed them getting into a car, then a lorry went past, obscuring them and the next scene tied them to the crime. V similar to the bus with the soldier and barrister. So I think that Sycamore CCTV is also somehow doctored and the conspiracy will be much wider than first thought.

Ovenchips, I thought that about Sycamore too ; the lorry goes past at a crucial point in the filming , just like the bus did. That was all doctored too , a stitch up.
Rachel's lover man was very complimentary about how good she was getting them caught. I think he knows more than his letting on!

Agree that the cop who took a statement from the cctv operator was just not listening as fixated on getting incriminating evidence. It also confirmed for the viewer that Shaun had not planned to assault - either he did not do it and is getting set up big time (why??) or he did do it based on a trigger. That trigger would most plausibly come from the lawyer, but that would suggestshe was prepared to be assaulted by a physically strong madman. There could be some sort of external trigger (where she is not in on it) - maybe playing on shaun's insecurity at people leaving him? - but this seems less believable. Short asnwer - don't know!

I think that could be it 80s. My thinking is that it has to realte to anti terror operations. EiEither tied to Afghan or operation sycamore. Holiday said the safe house doesn't look like brit secret service. I know Shaun may not be in that bldg, but I took that to mean it isn't. What we saw inside suggested - to me at least - a state operation, that would have to have tacit approval of mi5. The only foreign state that could and would be allowed to run such an operation is surely the US. So im favouring some link orignating back to Taliban days, otherwise why is Shaun involved? we might be more conused after tomo

It must all to be about the men that Rachel put away in prison right at the start in episode one. that footage does look dodgy.
Shaun was in Helmand - there has to be a link of some sort to all that.
how they got someone in the same clothes to act out the attack on the barrister is a mystery though. that really is puzzling me!

The80sweregreat · 16/09/2019 11:25

It was the grey haired 'spook' lady that has redacted the cctv -
because they know it wasnt Shaun and Rachal that was in it and it was just their way of getting him arrested. they must have realised he would go after some evidence it wasnt him and target her flat etc, so they could set him up to be caught and Rachel also wouldnt let it drop.
lover man probably told them she was fishing for information etc so they worked out she would go back to her old office to use the software they had and then they could throw her off the scent with the location of the safe house.
I still think that the policeman who isnt keen on her is also very dodgy - he doesnt like this fastrack idea of promotions and is keen for her to trip up and also met up with the spook woman.
he is also jealous that she put the men away in prison in episode one.
I am probably overthinking all this though.

How on earth did they ensure he got in the right taxi? He tried to stop the one before. Bit of poetic licence there.

Callum Turner is excellent in this, I'm really impressed. I found him quite appealing in a certain way in War and Peace a few years ago too.

Yes, if he had got in the first cab it may have had a different outcome altogether.
I was convinced by that cab driver too.
