The80sweregreat · 17/09/2019 22:01

Poor Hannah but why?

SoupDragon · 17/09/2019 22:04

How has it gone sci fi?

The80sweregreat · 17/09/2019 22:04

Whoever said about the lorry and sycamore was spot on.

MyMushroomsInATimeSlip · 17/09/2019 22:10

Who sent the text to Shaun when he was driving his mates car? His mate or his mate's partner who was at the empty garage that the police were searching?

youvegottobekidding · 17/09/2019 22:10

So I’ve been watching this also, however I’ve not been paying full attention tonight as been on my phone, what I did gather from tonight’s episode is that it looks like Shaun’s mate is ‘in on it’ & perhaps is the no.1 suspect now of killing Hannah & framing Shaun? It was his mates car he driving wasn’t it?

winterisstillcoming · 17/09/2019 22:19

I reckon they're all in on it apart from Rachel, Shaun, the tv creepy guy and the woman who leaked to YouTube, and her mate. That's it.

I can't understand why they are framing him for anything. What did he do or what does he know? Why do they want the barrister dead??

Thecapturefan · 17/09/2019 22:22

Why would the friend do it though? I just don’t understand

SoupDragon · 17/09/2019 22:22

Faking the Sycamore footage makes sense but I can't see why they would frame Sean for Hannah's murder. I suppose they wanted her dead for some reason (knew about the fake Sycamore footage maybe?) and he was a plausible suspect.

gem584848838 · 17/09/2019 22:22

So many questions after that episode!

Finally something decent on tv that had captured my attention. BBC really does dramas better than ITV!

Thecapturefan · 17/09/2019 22:25

Totally @gem584848838! It’s actually got you thinking and asking questions instead of being able to guess the whole plot by the end of episode 1.

MyMushroomsInATimeSlip · 17/09/2019 22:26

I've re watched it. The text was from an unknown number but seems to be from his mate? Could this text mean that his mate was made to take the car to him with the body in? If so, why was his mate so calm about it all when he was with Shaun?? We're the dodgy foreign people making him do it?

definitelyshouldknowbetter · 17/09/2019 22:27

I am absolutely loving this programme but I wished I had saved it to binge watch it because I can’t wait till next weekAngry

Few things I picked up tonight, it’s a known fact that Carey was shagging her boss and it was inferred a couple of times by different people.
I’m wondering if the blonde officer is the wife of the one Carey is/was shagging as they made a point of showing the kids toy and she implied she knew about the affair, plus the guy in the control room insinuated he knew her and she’d been there years.

definitelyshouldknowbetter · 17/09/2019 22:29

Thecapturefan I think the friend prob did it because he or his family was being threatened, I don’t think he’s dodgy dodgy otherwise he wouldn’t have sent the txt

definitelyshouldknowbetter · 17/09/2019 22:32

Maybe the barrister was onto something about sycamore and that’s why they needed her gone, if I remember rightly from the first ep she talked about suing the MoD, maybe that was her area of expertise

Italiangreyhound · 17/09/2019 23:28

ovenchips good call on the footage.

Hepzibar

"I have no idea what's going on. I am losing interest rapidly. I don't like Rachel Carey character at all."

I did lose interest briefly. The bolt cutters torture scene was shit. A nasty nod to Line of Duty, and I was fairly sure it was faked. Can't trust his mate, I think Rachel and Shaun are the only trustworthy ones on the whole programme.

Italiangreyhound · 17/09/2019 23:29

MyMushroomsInATimeSlip his mate, I think.

Italiangreyhound · 17/09/2019 23:31

youvegottobekidding IMHO his mate didn't kill Hannah and wasn't in on it but o think someone made him (threatened his family) give him the car so he'd get caught. Whether he knew the body was in the boot or not, who knows.

Italiangreyhound · 18/09/2019 01:13

Just realised (thanks Google) that DSU Gemma Garland is played by Lia Williams (she was the adoptive mum in Kiri, she had red hair).

Kiri: Lia Williams on the distressing bathroom scene in episode three and why she doesn’t agree with the backlash from social workers

Italiangreyhound · 18/09/2019 01:17

Just for anyone wanting more... The Capture: 7 big questions we have after episode three

The80sweregreat · 18/09/2019 06:29

I was impressed by how Shaun escaped the car boot, but they heard banging and must have known it was him, but they let it go.
They obviously wanted him to escape in order to frame him for Hannah's murder.

His friend, matty, looks a bit like Shaun and could be the soldier in the tv footage.

If grey haired spook lady reacted the cctv surely they would have made sure every copy was wiped? Why was it still available to the two police officers to upload?
It was amazing Shaun managed to find Lucas among all those spurs supporters!
I think that grey haired woman and Danny are probably married!
Rachael seeing the light about the cctv for Sycamore was very well done.
Roll on next week!

SoupDragon · 18/09/2019 06:35

I suppose someone banging in the boot isn't unlikely though, even if he got in "willingly".

I guess the number was unknown as it was to a burner phone with no numbers stored?

Piggywaspushed · 18/09/2019 06:58

That's a good shout about Lia Williams' character being married to whathisface. They are about the same age.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 18/09/2019 07:53

I think pp who said it was something todo with Hannah the barrister potentially overturning the Sycamore conviction because of the unsafe video is on to something.

So there is DS Carey, her team and basically Shaun who are on the same side, but don’t know it yet.
The CIA
Then there is a 3rd group, who had the man in Hannah’s apartment and possibly killed Hannah. Security services.

Did you notice when Shaun was going to court for his appeal, he crossed the 4 sycamore terrorists in the courtyard as they were coming out and said Salaam.
I wonder if he knew them from his time in prison ? ( eg they were held in the same place on remand till sentenced,)

humansympathique · 18/09/2019 07:59

So poor Laura lawyer may have been lining up a case against mod (presumably terror related). If this was the motive to kill her does it majorly implicate the good looking senior 'human rights' lawyer who laura said had come up with whole faulty video defence? Never trust the good looking guys in these dramas ... or life. Is the interest in shaun soley to frame him for the laura murder? If so why redact the evidence? Is it because they would not want it exposed to expert scrutiny on court?? As others have said, him finding the video guy amongst 60k spuds fans is fantasy. Im still hanging on to a part bournr theory for shauny as he seems to have subliminal visions. Can the sharp minds check my working please

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 18/09/2019 08:10

Hannah not Laura!
