Has anyone else seen the first episode?

I watched all of season 1 again yesterday in preparation.

Merry Streep was really good and I love Reese Witherspoon.

I had predicted Celeste might be pregnant this series but apparently not.

I'm loving it, MS is so good. Not so horrible she's annoying but not someone you'd want in your life!

I thought Jane was brilliant in episode 2, it was a very moving performance.

I was a bit unhappy that Jane told Ziggy he was the product of a rape, or did I get that wrong?

I think she decided no more lies and told him the truth. He knew it was something to do with salt, bless him, I think she did that so it was her who told him and not playground chatter.

But would the playground chatter be about the rape? I know it was out there about Perry being his dad, and the sad reference to "salt" but it is a very traumatic thing for a child to live with. Poor Ziggy.

I think she was right to tell him as he'd had enough lies, plus she told him from a place of love (rather then him finding out later without her and feeling even more lied to).

I reckon Meryl Streep's character will go after custody of the twins as she'll be building up her case against NKs character or get her prosecuted for murder (sorry, still can't remember anyone's name yet!). To be fair, NK is loading the ammunition into the gun for her!

And omg at Abigail saying what she says (trying not to add spoilers) thinking the husband is out

I don't like Abigail either but I thought that was deliberate for the character as I assumed she's meant to be a self-obsessed teen. I can't remember why her mum told her actually but I believe she found out by accident and her mum didn't lie to her (but I've probably completely made that up or mis-remembered!)

Just watched the second episode-so great!
MS's character is chilling-I think you are right about the custody think Brienne...

Just watched black mirror s3 which was pretty disappointing and need a good tv fix ASAP.

I feel for poor Ed. His face. I like watching Madeleine but she’s one of those impressive sorts who terrify me in real life and when you take a step back she can be awful.

Meryl is definitely going to try and take the boys. Poor Celeste.

I think Abigail doesn’t give a shit, self obsessed as she is. Madeline told her to say “see, I make mistakes too”

Second episode was good. MS is going to cause problems but I think they’ll all still get away with the lie. Also agree Abigail is a brat. I don’t find Jane a likeable character.

Abigail was just being a typical teen IMO! Madeline put her in a terrible position telling her. Madeline also caused the situation with the schoolkids talking about the rape. She doesn’t take responsibility. V well played by reece witherspoon. Wish I had ocean decking like that to sit on during times of emotional stress (and other times )

Wonder what happened to the (straight!) coffee shop man she went on the date with on the fateful night? Liked him, and more importantly his coffee shop!

they reversed the usual stereotype where women characters only talk to each other about men: ed and bonnie’shusband (can’t remember his name!) were discussing his relationship with / concern about bonnie. I loved james tupper in men in trees, but his character in this is unlikeable, at least this series he’s trying to help bonnie, although he’s still a dick, squaring up to Ed!

Liked his speech about the fragility of marriage.

Yes, I wondered about coffee shop man and his coffee shop. I suppose I'm not particularly loyal to one coffee shop, when a new shiny one opens. I suppose it must be a thing, coffee shop fickleness.

Jane and coffee shop man seemed to be heading for a happy ending in the last series, and now he is never mentioned. He was much nicer than the kid she seems to be getting involved with now.

I’m away and can’t find it on anything. Will have to watch when home so will avoid thread till then lol

That was an eventful episode.

I feel sorry for madelein. Even though she shouldn't have been cheating on her husband.

Loved the shouty driving scene with Laura dern and her husband.

Im over there next week so am excited to see the scenery
