Big Little Lies Season 2

Has anyone else seen the first episode?

I watched all of season 1 again yesterday in preparation.

Merry Streep was really good and I love Reese Witherspoon.

I had predicted Celeste might be pregnant this series but apparently not.

Marking my place. Watched first one today, was excellent and allayed my fears of a sequel as I loved the book so much.

Please please read Liane Moriarty’s other books too, she’s my current favourite author and everyone is a treat.

Have you read all of them? Do you have a favourite. I recently read What Alice Forgot and enjoyed it. I enjoyed Nine Perfect Strangers but thought it went off towards the end.. I’ve read the Husband Secret too but a while ago.

Liked and could relate to What Alice Forgot, but not the ending!

I think her female characters are much better than her male ones, who seem one dimensional.

I think a few of them have trailed off a bit towards the end. I can’t actually remember the ending to What Alice Forgot and I only listened to it last month (Audible)

She got back with her ex at the end of the book. I think it skipped a good few years. What Alice Forgot not BLL.

Is Jane living in the apartment that Celeste rented in season 1 or is it just similar?

Still reading Nine Perfect Strangers and enjoying it. She writes such beautiful characters.

The Hypnotist one has really stayed with me, complicated and painful and gorgeous. And the sisters one, such a funny beginning.

Interested to see where Meryl’s character goes in s2. The screaming was something else. Definitely agree Celeste needs MN. I wonder if her MIL had any idea about Perry. And what her own husband was like.

I have both of these on audiobook that I’m yet to read (if it’s Three Wishes that is the sister one) but the latter didn’t seem as interesting from the blurb. I bought it cause it was by LM

Did anyone else think that Jane looked deriously happy? Do you suppose it's because of the closure aspect. Also I think Bonnie may have had a different life before Nathan and Sky, I think she hinted as much in S1.
Also loved Perrys mum insulting her friends 'middle management' son. Hilarious, I want to be her when I grow up Grin.

Hmmmm ,just caught up with second episode. I'm finding Kidman's face hugely distracting and she also swings from having lovely hair to a very obvious wig. All the dramatic sighing is ridiculous too.

Needs to improve imo, it seemed really flat and dull.

It’s awful when actor’s faces have had so much work, looks really unnatural and detracts from / hampers the performance.

Yes, I think it comes out at 2am on Sunday night/Monday morning and you can get it on catch up/box sets/whatever.

I like to watch it 'live' though!

I read that MS had false teeth specially made to make her look more like the on screen son.
Her character is very like my own MIL, I said to DH if he's ever murdered I do not want her moving in with me and the DC!

The word "fuck" really doesn't bother me usually, but the number of times Laura Dern used it tonight became incredibly irritating.
