I was a lurker on the last thread, I didn't post much, but I loved all of your comments. So the last one was full, here's another one

I neither know nor care which of Ryan or Ali is Michelle's biological son and which is the one she brought up.

Did we know about the drug addiction or has it been sprung upon us? I remember last week someone being handcuffed and Ali(or Ryan) looking perturbed. I don't even know which is which.

Brand new storyline revealed this evening. On Wednesday (or maybe Monday) evening we saw Dr Ali (biological son of Michelle) looking anxious when the hospital pharmacist was being arrested. First indication there was a problem with Ali.

I am another one that finds Sinead’s voice incredibly grating. I’m sure she wasn’t always like that.

The storyline is being done quite well though I think. I assume it is all heading for an Xmas conclusion. Does anyone else remember Hope’s cancer storyline a few years back? Also an Xmas climax. That storyline oddly fell completely flat and didn’t really take off at all, but that could be due to Fizz and her ghastly “baby” voice.

I’ve always thought Ali looked a bit weird, his hair is strange, his facial expressions are strange. Will Maria ever find love!

It's all so depressing. They should call it 'depression street'. If you're not stabbed you die from cancer. No optimism, just constant misery.

Yes in real life awful things happen but their objective is to make entertainment and viewing figures from it. For some people this is reality, not a soap.

Ali irritates me the way he's constantly rubbing the back of his head or scratching behind his ear when he's talking!

Ali and Gary have the same mannerisms.... Shifty looking, rubbing the back of their heads as mentioned above and always looking through their eyebrows. It's weird!

Ali's little mannerisms are give away body language signs that he's lying ! (And I thought he looked very Gary-esque too )

Purely on a selfish note , the return of Raji James ( Sineads Oncologist) will hopefully be a fixture from now till Christmas .

It annoys me too when Ryan and Ali are described as brothers. I can understand half and step siblings describing themselves as 'brothers' especially if they were brought up together but this isn't the case.

I've just caught up. The Sinead story is heartbreaking. I want to watch and I do think it's needed to raise awareness (looking at you @Awwlookatmybabyspider ) but it's all a bit too close to home. I really hope it's not a Christmas day conclusion

I thought the same thing. But then I also thought about Paul in general.
When he came into it he was threatening to tell people about Gemma, generally acting the hard man, being a bit of a cock.
Now he's all timid and sheepish and loves Gemma..
Seems the writers had one plan, then something changed and they decided to change him completely.

So we're in for another harrowing storyline, about Paul, by the looks of it. They are just ticking boxes now - "What grim and depressing issues have we not covered yet.....oh, I know...."

And once again the story develops at lightening speed. Kel arrived 3 episodes ago. He’s now in chesneys house, in the rovers, permanent feature of the street, and within tonight’s 2 episodes we had Paul acting weird, kel conforming something happened, Billy suspecting what happened, confronting Paul and Paul all but confirming it. The story will be over by Friday.

Don’t you think the reaction to Sinead’s terminal diagnosis would have left people reeling with shock? Nobody seemed to be overly bothered, I would have thought it deserved a scene of all the factory workers getting together over a drink to comfort each other, Izzy did not mention it and even Chesney’s reaction was underwhelming, it will be his second girlfriend that will have died.
