I was a lurker on the last thread, I didn't post much, but I loved all of your comments. So the last one was full, here's another one

I thought the same as @optimist1. . I am guessing it’s loan shark money.

The cooper clocked it though too.

Redshoeblueshoe · 09/09/2019 22:16

I've forgotten the name of the landlady, but it's a bonus for her, she gets rid of Kate and gets to keep the chocolates Grin

JemimaTab · 10/09/2019 06:01

I agree about Sinead’s incredibly annoying voice. I’m sure it wasn’t that bad when she was first on the show.

JemimaTab · 10/09/2019 06:04

Also, I really hope they don’t put Abi and Kev together as a couple. I fear it’s heading that way, but there are already more than enough dreadful badly-suited couples on the Street.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/09/2019 08:06

What’s all this. About him being too old for Abi. Is he 102 and is she 16. She’s a fully grown adult and mother fgs

Kazzyhoward · 10/09/2019 08:12

Remember when Toyah became a counsellor just like that. No quals no nothing

Just like the solicitors - apparently, get a law degree and you're a practising solicitor in the parallel uninverse of Weatherfield where they don't have to take Law Society exams nor get approved/relevant experience before applying for a licence to practice! Not only that, but they're experts at all aspects of law too - family, commercial, conveyancing, litigation - quite impressive really when most solicitors specialise in just one discipline!

HKW81 · 10/09/2019 08:18

Okay I don't feel as bad about slating Sinead and her irritating baby voice now 🤣 Between her and Steve it's horrendous! Add in Peters patronising whispering to Carla and it's all just a bit much . . .

Kazzyhoward · 10/09/2019 08:19

Any chance Mrs Tenbe will go back to Doctors. She's awful in Corry - awful character but she can't stick to the accent. She was absolutely brilliant in Doctors - such a shame she didn't stay. I really can't see her lasting long on the street.

Redshoeblueshoe · 10/09/2019 08:24

Kazzy I want her back in Doctors, but that's because her character was fabulous in Doctors.
I don't know why they insist that every character has a Manchester accent.

Optimist1 · 10/09/2019 11:45

Yes, the accent thing is weird. There's quite a discussion about it on the thread about A Confession. Thinking about my immediate circle in the SE of England we have my DIL (Devon accent), mother (Irish) and friends (Lancs, Bristol and Brummie) - perfectly normal to have people with accents from elsewhere.

Deadringer · 10/09/2019 12:15

Tbf to Toyah she is supposed to have qualified and worked as a counselor in the years before she returned to Weatherfield.

Kazzyhoward · 10/09/2019 12:29

I don't know why they insist that every character has a Manchester accent.

I can't understand why there isn't a single Irish accent among the entire Connor clan, who are supposed to be Irish!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/09/2019 16:53

I’ve just has a thought. Why does Leanne have nothing to do with Fiz Chesney Hurp and Jurziv. After all Leanne’s dad was married to their mum. She should be as close to them as she is to Toyah

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 10/09/2019 17:30

Sinead’s voice does my head in too. Every time she’s speaks I get flashbacks of the time Tracey did the impression of her Grin

What the hell was Sinead wearing? It was awful!

Deadringer · 10/09/2019 17:30

Les and Cilla were only together for a couple of years and Leanne was already grown up and living independently by then, whereas Leanne and Toyah grew up together.

Clawdy · 10/09/2019 20:28

Yes, Sinead 's dress looked ridiculous. Why was she wearing a white gauzy tent?

CoolShoeshine · 10/09/2019 22:39

If Sinead’s dress had been pink it would have looked like a Mrs Slocombe/Barbara Cartland effort.

eddiemairswife · 11/09/2019 12:42

My prediction for Christmas Corrie...............death of Sinead, birth of quads. Possibly both events in Rovers, while Rita sings 'Silent Night'.

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 11/09/2019 13:19

Eddie

If a writer is reading this right now... You've just give them ideas.

Christmas Eve on t'cobbles..
Sinead is in hospital with Daniel and Bertie.
Gemma is in hospital with Cheney.
Rest of the cast are in the Rovers.

Rita gets a call to say quads are born and the rovers cheer and happiness spreads...
Then Ken's phone rings.. he pops outside.. Daniels tells him Sinead has died.. ken listens to the happiness in the Rovers and steps in with tears in his eyes.. music stops and slowly people spot him..
"Sinead has died" he says quietly, everyone's shocked as smiles and cheer turns to sadness and tears...
Camera shows the street with gentle snow falling, the music is sad and quiet as the screen fades to black..

Miaowing

Anything that has not happened on the TV is a spoiler.
Doesn't matter if it's in the news paper or oK magazine, on This Morning or Loose Women or if one of the cast got shot and it was in the News...

If it hasn't happened in the show then mentioning it is a spoiler..
