I was a lurker on the last thread, I didn't post much, but I loved all of your comments. So the last one was full, here's another one

OP posts:

I thought it was really awful that Dev asked Asha if this was all because she was on her period! Angry yes because a teenage girl having to insist on a separate room from her teenage brother must be because she’s been hormonal Hmm

InterdimensionalHoleOfPancakes · 30/08/2019 21:22

Couldn't someone at Dev's sleep in the downstairs front room? Like most of the street, they don't seem to use it for anything else!

woodhill · 30/08/2019 21:26

Dev's is open plan. Amazed they shared this long.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 30/08/2019 21:29

They could throw a bit of work their new neighbours way and get a stud wall put up in the biggest bedroom to make it two small singles.

eddiemairswife · 30/08/2019 21:45

I'm also amazed that Asha and Aldi(?) are still sharing. Perhaps Mary could move in with Dev!!!!

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 30/08/2019 21:47

It's about time Asda and Aldi got their own rooms, but letting it all be dictated by a stroppy madam dumping her brother's stuff on the landing is ridiculous.

But the biggest issue I have is that they try to make Dev out to be a shop owner, with lots of businessess etc etc.. why is he living in a tiny 3 bed terrace? Wouldn't the obvious option be move into a 4 bed?

Housewife2010 · 30/08/2019 23:12

Why doesn't Dev have a loft extension? Curly had one for an observatory. During the building works Mary could move into Eileen's boarding house.

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 31/08/2019 04:40

Dev only has the one shop now. He used to own a few shops but suffered some kind of financial problem & had to let them go I think.

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 31/08/2019 05:19

Dev only has the one shop now

He still has the chippy and kebab shop tho doesn't he? Not that we ever see the chippy.

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 31/08/2019 10:01

Ooh yes I'd forgotten about his fast food shops Blush

I know that some years ago he had more corner shops because Sunita used to work in one of them before coming to the Coronation Street shop.

Eastie77 · 31/08/2019 11:03

Wasn't there a storyline years ago when Dev's now dead wife (Suneeta?) discovered he had multiple children with different women and they all lived/worked at the different shops he owned? He seemed at the time he had a mini empire with 6 or 7 shops. Have they all disappeared?

Eastie77 · 31/08/2019 11:04

Missed your post Dave!

Claricethecat45 · 31/08/2019 11:27

On a tangent

WHY does Steve McDonald put on silly baby voices ALL the time..?
It used to be restricted to talking to Amy but its just all the time now and the ridiculous faces....

JanuaryBirthdays · 31/08/2019 15:18

I am not looking forward to seeing more of Fiz now. Couldn't have groaned any more seeing her arrival.

eddiemairswife · 31/08/2019 15:38

I'm just hoping the writers have some understanding of the KS1 admissions process, and Hope doesn't get in because her grandmother locked herself in the Head's office and called the local newspaper.
Also the caretaker will have a master key.

nildesparandum · 31/08/2019 21:03

I can't stand Steve's silly voice and faces either.

millimat · 01/09/2019 09:10

This Robert story is ridiculous!

millimat · 01/09/2019 09:20

And why, in that trafficking plot, is that Rachel allowed to be free? I thought they were arrested?

Optimist1 · 01/09/2019 09:50

And wasn't there a mention at some stage that Jan and Rachel were married??

x2boys · 01/09/2019 11:29

I don't watch corrie very often but is there a reason why Hope is in a PRU, so far away Confused

Aberhonddu · 01/09/2019 12:02

X2boys
Ruby was thought to be the destructive child in the family, being cruel and vicious but it was Hawp, the actress playing Fizz took maternity leave. So in the space of about 5 minutes a place was found for Hawp and off she went.

x2boys · 01/09/2019 12:05

But surely there are PRU,s nearer?

Eastie77 · 01/09/2019 12:30

I think Ty found the PRU in Birmingham and then, wouldn't you know it, Toyah had a friend who worked there and was able to 'reserve' a spot for Hawp. Within 24 hours her bags were packed and off she went. The entire storyline was ludicrous. Her behaviour didn't even require a PRU. I recall she pushed Joseph, bit Ruby and some other silly antics which certainly needed managing but did not necessitate going to a unit.

Anyway, it seems she is back now and all behavioural issues resolved in the blink of an eye.

x2boys · 01/09/2019 12:34

And The LEA agreed to fund it ? I assume she would have needed n EHCP which is supposed to take 20 weeks but in reality can take much longer, God I'm overthinking this Classic Corrie is so much better!😂

Eastie77 · 01/09/2019 12:50

LEA? EHCP? Don't be silly, those things aren't required in Corrieland! One phone call from Toyah sorted everythingGrin

Weatherfield is an alternative universe. Once Gemma's quads arrive I'm sure we will still see her and Ches in the Rovers every evening. The 24 hour childminder will be watching the babies.
